Mirtillo

  • If it wasn't for Mirtillo, Clar and I would have no Basenji….

It was after going to the BCOC website, then finding the Basenji forum and seeing pictures of Tillo that captured our hearts when it came down to choosing this breed. - Tillo's structure and those frickin' wrinkles I tell ya, melts us every time...:p

I believe it was the video of Job and Tillo doing his nightly routine that solidified our decision and eliminated a lot of the misconceptions of an untamable type of dog and pushed us to do further research.

I'm no expert, but I truly believe that Mirtillo, is the epitome of all things grand with Basenji's through temperment, behaviour and agility. And like the gorgeous expression on his face through his pics - a true ambassador for this breed.

Plus, I'm a photog - geek and seriously enjoy each and every capture you both display on the forums and his website. :D

We look forward to seeing Mirtillo and his future companion grow old together. Well done you two and thanks for inspiring Clar and I to do better for our own B.

    Emm, Clar & Kairoe :)

  • Wow, I'm speechless.. Thank you for your kind post.. I'm happy Tillo 'helped' you to get your Basenji :) He's a great dog, not perfect though.. Still quite a challenge sometimes  ;)

I promise we'll keep posting pics on here and on Tillo's site :)

@Elysium: Yeees - same on Zuri :D It looks … strange  But I get used to it. The winter coat always goes over her tail and I don't like that. Thinking the wind will move under. So I fix it. The rain coat is thinner and doesn't move. On Thabo, it doesn't look like a thong so much. He has more muscles than Zuri and nothing can go "into" his skin. You can buy a green one??? We only have brown, black and red. But someone told me, that the brown looks very green :D Tillo doesn't like it when his tail is on top of the coat.. don't know why that is.. ;) I just search on the site where I bought it… it's brown.. :D It looks green to me ;) (doesn't it look green on the pics?) I was thinking about buying the human rain coat, so Tillo and I can walk in style.. gg.. but it's way too expensive :(

Love your pictures, he is so cute. I love the one with the stuffed animals as well, Sahara plays fetch with hers and even throws them up in the air to catch by herself. I think she would do good with a playmate, but the hubby says no for now, I think I will change his mind in time. :D :D

@tsjoe007: As they are serious breeders I think they are. They only breed Basenji's so I am pretty sure the pups are ok. But nevertheless I'll inquire after. Greetz from a nervous awaiting "addict";) I hope your right :) I think it's very important that breeders test their dogs. You can read all about it on this forum! (I expect you did already… :D)

@Barklessdog: Very cute dog & great pictures. Sweden looks like a beautiful place to live The first thing a thought when we drove in to Sweden was: if I'll ever buy a second house, it will be here! It's so beautiful there! And the people are really nice!
