    We finally got our fence complete a couple of days ago. Though dh finished the last bit while I was at work and got to watch them take their first sprint around the yard without me.

    So tonight the fur kids had another B over to run with them in the yard. The lady who bought the B after falling in love with zoe lives a couple blocks from me and we let her brindle "Dixie" run with zoe and chief. Dixie is 2 days younger then chief. They ran around for an hour then layed for awhile at our feet before they ran some more. Seeing 3 Bs running together was great. Hubby better watch out LOL I have been throwing hints at him about fostering. But so far no bites :(.

    Isn't it great to get an outstanding household task finished? And now you can spend your time letting b's run around without worry. Hope you all have fun and enjoy the new yard.

    Running with Basenjis...at what age?

    My Basenjis are 6 and 3. We live in Florida and I usually run with them 1-2, sometimes 3 miles. My run is still just a trot for them, but I let them stop and sniff and potty whenever they need/want, and I just do squats while they do it :). On the 3-milers, I am sure to bring water or let them stop and drink at the beach which is the turn around point. I also wet them down before hand.

    I have been bike riding 10 times with Siren. 8 of those times I have returned home limping or bleeding. Each time I go out I think I have the issue of cutting in front of the bike solved. Each time Siren finds a way to cut in front of the bike or try to go between the wheels. Siren understands the basic commands: come, sit, stay, and no. Unfortunely, she only understands when you have her undivided attention (meaning nothing else is around or moving).

    Whenever we love on Sahara with hugging, kissing her sweet face, cuddling, she will immediately get up and shake it off. It is so funny, it's like she is saying I love you guys but please I am only a Basenji, not your baby. Maybe she understand when we call her, Our Baby Girl, hehe!!!!!:D

    Wow. I am impressed. We're still at the stage where she won't be crated, can't stand to have one of us out of her sight, and if we're ignoring her she grabs something she isn't supposed to and runs all over the place until we have to pay attention and play. We're having dreams of an adult dog…......hopefully she'll get there someday.

    $2000.00 for astro turf!!! Wow! I've seen that short green carpet which looks like grass and that works really well. I don't think its called astro turf though since it is much shorter. You can find it at camping stores or even Home Depo. Its not really that expensive and it is easy to clean with a hose.

    Over thanksgiving last year, I went out of town for the week to visit my folks. The normal person that keeps my Basenjis was also out of town that week. My husband's sister volunteer to keep them. I tried to warn her of all the things she needed to put up and away. My guys are older and in a basenji proof house are ok left out (not crated) all day. She forgot to shut the bathroom door one day before work. She got home and they had gently pulled the TP from the holder and ran up and down the hallway making many trips folding the paper back and forth on itself. She didn't forget to shut the door again.:D They also took a whole box of facial tissue off the end table and shreded it. She said it looked like it had snowed in her living room.:p
