• I am glad I heard about these before I bought them. I am not sure if this is a treat I could offer, although I am sure dogs love them.

  • I don't buy these; I just can't bring myself to handle them. LOL

I also would not want to be the person who braids or folds them into pretzels. I'd have to be very down on my luck to want THAT job. LOL

I'll be crossing my fingers that you get a good job before you are forced into bully-bending duty!

  • I learn more and more from this forum everyday. I bought some Bully Stick's for the furkids while we were at a pet store today and I raved them up to my friend telling her that they were tendons (I thought I read that here) and now I was searching for these on the forum just to read what everyone said about them and I realized what they really were. The dogs love them and if I had known what they were I would not have bought them but now I know that they keep them out of trouble so I may have to overlook the fact that I really know what they are.

But, can I just add "Eeeeeewwwwww" anyway?????

  • When I used to work at a grooming salon every once in a blue moon people would ask me what they were and they would be shopping with their KIDS and I would be like eh-um-er. LOL
But heck my B loves those things so I'm like whatever lol.

  • I think we have some confusion here, there are bully sticks from Merrick that are beef tendons, and dogs love them. I buy them all the time for Sahara, she loves them . I think we are talking about 2 different bully sticks.

Below is the website for the Merrick brand Bully Sticks (tendons). It states the treat is a "tendon" but when you read about the product - it leads me to believe it is the "other tendon" - not a leg tendon. I suppose you can request a description of where on the bully's body these tendons comes from.

  • It states that it is a conversation peice, they were not kidding, I just found out recently what the were, I was at petco and this guy standing next to me with his 2 small girls wanted to know what they were and the girl had to make them leave so she could explain what they were. It was funny!

That definately makes you lean (heavily) towards which tendon it's coming from  . But in any case because I have such a spoiled little girl I'll have to pick some up, sounds like it's a favorite for many B's.

  • I bought the unbraided ones for my pack and my husband refused to touch them.

  • I told my co-worker (also a dog lover and owner) about these and how I read what they really were and we had quite a good laugh about it all day yesterday. I have to admit I am still shocked but I am still going to give them to the dogs because they love them.

  • I saw the thread for pizzles and wanted to let people know you can get them pretty cheap at Fleet Farm. Their prices are usually half of what PetSmart or PetCo, but you can't bring the pups into Fleet Farm.
