What a beautiful collar and handsome boy :D.
Pippin and his wonderful nature..
-
So we have had Pippin with us now going on three weeks and he never seizes to amaze me. He is very talkative, to the other dogs, to the mop, to my hubby and me and especially to his two human siblings, Sofia and Lukas..
He went to his first puppy class yesterday and before we had run through the sit motion three times he was doing it on cue..smart boy..the lab puppy owner was in shock…this was their second class...hehe, don't tell me basenjis are stupid..no way.
He knows our certain rules around the house..like not sitting on MY leather chair my darling hubby had imported from Sweden as a gift a few years ago..Pippin doesn't care..he gets on it, we take him off, he gets on it again..gives us all a big barrooo and we take him off again, back up and barroo..the circle never ends..until we break it with some distraction.
Most of y'all know our struggles with the crate..well we had a small victory today when I moved is indoor wire crate into the car..he even fell asleep in it..jippea!!…at home he would only eat in it, never anything else. He loves Moses' crate though..go figure.
We have transitioned him onto "big boy" food, i.e no more puppy food, now he eats what the big boys and girls eat..grain free Nature's Domain..he loves it, his stomach never complained either..another jippea!!
So no he doesn't have to continue eating dirt outside, poor boy..
He has found the shower..might curious about it and frequents it often when we are done using it..he also loves walk through puddles..

What a treasure he is! I love his sweet little face, your photos are wonderful.

OMG! He is ADORABLE!!!!! Great photos!

Very cute thanks for posting!

Petra… he is a very handsome young boy.... and seems to be fitting right in.... and I think with some "tough" love, he will learn to like his crate.... remember, the key is tough love.... and if this age he is a happy camper with Moses and he doesn't mind... I would not be too concerned about that... I would still put the crates side by side and at night one cover for the both crates.... as he gets older, you should find that he would rather have his own space.... just don't give up.....
-
Thanks all..he is my jewel..
I will try the cover on both crate…just don't give up…..
nope..he knows I am the boss..he baroos that to me several times a day

Such cute wrinkles… your in for a joyous time.
Thanks for sharing. -
Very handsome boy that Pippin is! Won't stay off the imported leather chair? Typical Basenji juvenile delinquent! But isn't that one of the reasons you love a Basenji because it tests you and has a mind of it's own?! Buddy baroos at me on walks and I ask him "why are you yelling at me?:D

Dan, you are right…that is why I love them, because they have a mind of their own...

Bang on! Couldn't say it better.
Pippin is a real good looker. And you take wonderful photos of him. Have you started a Pippin photo album? I have one of Kipawa and I add new pictures to it every few weeks. I place a date on each page so I will be able to look back and remember the puppy days.
Could you let him have Mose's crate (make a switch)? Just a thought.
-
Well, he can't have Moses' crate, but I did buy Pippin one just like that, except one size smaller. Moses' crate is large..the crate is arriving tomorrow.

More lovely pictures and what a clever boy he is. It looks as the crate problem is getting easier - how about a trade? - Tough love for crate and soft love for your chair?!
