@elbrant - Better place to see what a Basenji looks like is on the BCOA site, www.basenji.org and go to https://basenji.org/index.php/shop/books-cd-s-illustrated-standard/illustrated-standard. You can review on line
Getting our first basenji soon!
-
Hey What breeder in CT are you getting your pup from? I'm in CT also!
-
Michelle,
Khanis mentioned a Cindy so I think it's C-quest. Unless there are a lot of basenji breeders in CT with first name Cindy…..but what are the chances?
-
That's too funny…I just emailed Cindy at C-Quest Basenji in CT this morning asking for information!
What a small world! :p

Welcome to the forums..nice to have you and yours here..I can't wait to see that little bundle of yours. Have fun visiting and take pictures..
Sounds like you are prepared..good feeling isn't it? -
:)It is great to be prepared although I am sure the pup will think of something I missed! Yes, it is Cindy at C-Quest. She is awesome and her pups are wonderful! We are very excited! How did you people guess? It is a very small world indeed! My husband bought me a new mini camcorder/ camera for Valentines so the pics and videos will be coming as soon as we get our bundle of cuteness! Thanks to all for the trash receptacle info! There may be a market for a basenji-proof can!

It is not such a small world when people go to responsible breeders because you find that we all know each other, regardless of where we live…. it is a breath of fresh air.... and it is a small world for those that are not responsible breeders, because as breeders they are not known for responsible breeding and/or heath testing.
And the Basenji proof can.. is the Trash Compactor.. been through more the 20 Basenjis and none have ever figured out how to open...gggg

Live in a rental… no room for one of those.
I have a 5 gal bucket and my broken pedal can is on top of that... not that is matters.. the taller ones can get in it anyways...
and of course bathroom trash is up high on the stand behind the toilet! At least De La would wait until I walked away before stepping on the pedal and getting in to scavenge on the chicken bones and running hell bent for election before I could catch her.... that bitch was smart!
You said CT... there are only two responsible breeders up there.. Cindy and Gretchen... I knew that Cindy co-bred a few litters with Rusella... and Gretchen had pups last year.. so it was only Cindy with pups that young! MONK I try to be!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new addition! Can't wait to see pics!
We have pedal bins in the kitchen and bathroom. They do the trick for us.. Haven't found a B in there yet..
-
We have a can with a push button that makes the top spring up. We took off the spring so that you have to push the button with one hand and lift the lid with the other.
That has worked so far.-Nicole

That sounds like a good idea
We too have the pedal-thing and Zuri always open it with her nose
I keep the doors shut…
Welcome to the forum!
Your preparations sound great!!!
And I'm also looking forward to the pics.
