Since Buster is a rescue, I would highly suggest that you have DNA Fanconi testing done. It is a cheek swab that you do yourself. You can order the test at www.offa.org for 65.00. Money well spent for peace of mind and know your Basenji's status. Scroll down till you get to Fanconi DNA

We are expecting our pup soon. I was looking for more information and came accross this site. We are very excited to add our new addtion. Welcome to the site. It's so much fun reading about these exceptional dogs and their owners. You will learn a lot of interesting stuff. My labrasenji and I live in Frederick, MD, not too far away. I just met a lady in my doctor's office who has a purebred basenji so they're around but quiet.:D Have fun with this site.
