@debradownsouth Thank you for the kind words but I have to admit... I take young adults for my own convenience. I simply don't have time, stamina or energy to deal with the pups as adorable as they are. Having a puppy is like having a baby or too! Did I mention I was not into children and babies or can you guess?lol. I love the retirees. they are already used to crates (although Ollie is now somewhat recalcitrant about getting into hers because she would rather hang out with her now "Mom", lol!! They travel well. They are usually somewhat used to people. Ollie is not used to playing by herself and is just getting used to "big" breeds. She doesn't get the commands "sit, down or stay" yet but we are working on it. She is the champ of the "heel" command however!!

Hello!
I currently live with Wilder, a shy 5 yr old brindle male. Our house is quiet after living with three B's for most of the last 16 years. Laika and Rigby are no longer with us, and life has become very quiet. Before Wilder, we had a rescue, Luke, for three years who we treated for Fanconi. He was a dear old man.I am watching the BRAT list for a companion for Wilder. I am looking for a B who is good with children (grandchild expected in June) and who is within driving distance of Louisville. Affectionate would be nice, because Wilder is not, and I miss that. We are not in a rush because Miles, my granddog is staying with us while my Son-in-law goes through cancer treatment in Houston.
I am glad to have found this group…

So sorry to hear about your losses..We just lost two of our beloved dogs this past spring..so hard to go through. I know you will find that perfect mate for Wilder, just have patience..I love his name by the way..too cool.
Have you done an application to BRAT yet? Sometimes they have dogs available that hasn't made it online yet..some never make it online, they get adopted before they get a profile set up..My last foster Dotty was like that. Put your name in the hat and some things might pop up, without even trying..
Good luck…and oh yeah...WELCOME..that should've been the first thing..

Thanks! We are registered with BRAT… ooh, I miss licks, but yes, they did get too much.
