Your right Jess, what a difference - in the last pic her coat looks fantastic - i think i would be tempted to keep her at home till she recovers some of her former glory - I certainly wouldnt expect any dog to be back in condition after only 7 weeks - though i know some do it but i have no idea how!
-
People seem to get pugs back in coat pretty quickly after having pups sometimes! I think its because many of them have very fine coats, Gracie has a really thick, dense proper double coat so that could be why it has taken longer! We didnt expect her to be back in coat but by entering another dog we got a spare pass to the Agricultural show We'll definately take her along for the day out but i may keep her out of the ring.. Or maybe just see who else is there first. The judge loves her and has placed her very well and given her very good write ups, so maybe best not to put her under him when she's not looking her best…
she has always been a nightmare for being out of coat for ages. When she blows it she really, really blows it! Right down to just guard hairs like now... But i can put up with that as when it comes back she has the most perfect coat.
Thanks for all the input!

They are beautiful Maya! There was an 11 month old beautiful blk pug at the dog park last week that Buddy played with. She was just a kick! They both played real rough too. Her owner said she liked to play real hard and she is a high energy dog.

She still looks gorgeous to me!
What do you use to groom her?
-
Pugs are definately high energy dogs, not lazy little dogs like people make out! My three keep Maya on her toes
I have been furminating her (stopped that now the coat is all out!) and just giving her a bath a couple of times a week (minus the shampoo) to try to encourage the coat out. Im putting a bit of oil in her food also to encourage a nice, healthy coat.

Adorable (both pups)! Go with your gut feeling about showing her…if you do...good luck...keep us posted on her experience!! She deserves the attention!

Ooooh, ok, i get it now Ignore me, having a dopey moment!
I think if anything, Gracie will end up looking better than she did before she had the puppies. She is already looking more "finished", once the coat is sorted and her little puppy belly has gone i think she's going to look lovely

I think she looks smashing..I sure didn't look that good after 7 weeks, and I only had one in there..lol.
She is a little different in her coat, but she is still a beautiful example of what a show pug should look like..right? It might work to massage her fur out, I know it helps us to a certain degree, for hair and nails..
