  • Well, for this evening, I have managed to find a friend of a friend's floor to sleep on. After Friday, who knows!?

  • @Schouiffy:

Well, for this evening, I have managed to find a friend of a friend's floor to sleep on. After Friday, who knows!?

Ahh ok hopefully you will find something before Friday then.

  • Wow, Lauren..I wish you the best of luck to find something quickly and troublefree.

  • Hope you find somewhere soon!

  • No worries guys!! I think it's all a part of being a student once more. =) I'm not too worried, well not yet at least. Thanks for all the well wishes.

I do have one question, perhaps someone could enlighten me on..Is is terribly difficult to let a flat with a dog here in Scotland ? I never ran into much trouble in Switzerland and France, but I'm a little out of my element at the moment.

  • It just depends on the landlord or agent. Be honest with them and you should be okay. Some landlords just worry about mess etc but make it clear when you enquire.

  • I'm up in the far north (Shetland) if you ever venture this far on your travels :)

  • Checking in again.. you all are so marvelous for your well wishes! They are greatly appreciated.

I'll be honest and say that things have not gone too smoothly. In fact my director of studies was so innapropriate at our meeting that I almost went home to San Francisco yesterday. It seems there has been a massive misunderstanding with University and I was placed in the wrong year. So there is some sorting out to do… add that with needing a flat - well you all can see there has been some serious stress.

But, now I have a hotel, I think I'll just book it up for a few weeks so I can have some semblance of stability. So consider me available for rendez vous from here on out =)

  • Lauren, I am so sorry things have turned out so sour.
I sure hope you find a solution soon and that your time in Scotland will be good time spent among friends.

  • Oh gosh Lauren things have not gone very smoothly for you have they:(
I hope it will all sorted out very soon for you so you can relax a bit and enjoy your time in Edinburgh:D

This was on the news tonight and Senator Dianne Feinstein is pushing a bill through to ban the use of BPA.

Thanks for all the replies! Pugs have the best expressions :D Kipawa - I try to keep all of my birds unclipped as i like to see them fly :) I take them out on harnesses and flightlines in the summer to get some real flying time in, they love it!! I have one poor conure who had her wing mutilated by someone trying to clip without knowing what they were doing. She drops like a stone if she tries to fly, and the wing wont ever grow back so she will never fly again, poor Lola :( AJs Human - Ruby wont have all of her colours through until she is about 3 (she's 6 months now). She should get much more vibrant colours :) Tanza - Leaving tomorrow at about 8:30 for Crufts, its just 45 mins down the motorway for me - a local one!

I should add that Seti hurt his paw as soon as I started training. He was on "house arrest" for a month and the doctor told us that we were not to allow him to run or jump. Yeah right - like that's going to happen!!! Anyhow, Seti is all better but I wanted to add a little basenji tale to the story :)

That is too cool!!! It is impossible to watch without smiling. (even though I found myself worrying for Bailey when he/she disappeared in the snow.) I think the dog is "Bailey the snow mole"! Thank you for sharing that morning smile with us. Pat

I am very interested, but need to wait to get the extra money built up before I start. I want to begin with the non-aggressive, mild but colorful fish. I have been told tropicals are more difficult than fresh waters… What is your suggestion? I am trying to learn ahead of time so when I do start, I won't be in over my head!
