Question about a judge

  • We're thinking about entering both boys for the show in Rotterdam (Holland) at the end of August.

We both are missing the shows and we will enter one last time before my due date (after the baby is born, we pick up showin again as we used to do, but we thought we wanted a break during my pregnancy…)
Well, also the boys are missing their showparty's.. (when we train they keep yodeling hahaha)

I made a new show calendar and we thought of starting in Germany.
Buana has his Championship in Holland and Belgium already so Germany would be great for both boys.
But the dates are not coming along with our plans.. so we end up with Rotterdam.

The judge of that day is Mr. D.A. Ojalvo from Argentina,
I always like to know more about the judges:) and this one, I don't know..

Does anyone know this judge and do you know what kind of B's he like?

The group judge for us would be Ms. C. Br?cker (Luxembourg)

  • Never heared of these judges before. But I have to tell you, that I am quite happy with these lots of new judges no one knows already. So you never know, what you can expect…..

    Regards,
    Esther

  • well mrs, Broecker, she judges my ibizans once on a show in the morning and later she called them back as she had to judge the pharaohhounds…
she is also not very carefull and really rough with the dogs she judges.
    said enough? >grin<
but for the group you should not care about this ;)

That's True! :D On my showlist there are many unknown judges!
Only hope they all know enough of B's :D

Thanks :D For the group judgements we don't mind the judge..
But to call in an Ibizan for a Pharaoh… hmz... hahahaha
(did they play in the mud the day before show???)

I have always enjoyed showing to him with dogs of any color. He seems to put up a strong mover with good topline. My boy Xander won with him several times and he is a larger brindle boy.

@nomrbddgs: When dogs are out, they definitely do act different. There are new things to experience. But once they've been exposed to the ring a couple of times, they settle down. We lived in Niagara Falls for many, many years and I would take my dogs to the heart of the tourism area and walk up and down the sidewalk. Loud noises, buses, different types of people, etc was excellent for them. When obedience training, this was perfect. It taught them to be distraction proof. Ill have to take her for walks down main street and stuff when it warms up a bit… Vanderlae would love that and i know the dogs would too! hehe and i agree it will help with the distractions! :D

@Borbasuk: I have judged a couple of overseas specialties and have found my efficient and helpful stewards to be worth their weight in gold; they always are of course, but with an unfamiliar system and language this is even more true.:) That is so true, a good ring steward is for sure worth their weight in gold regardless of the situation. I have nothing but the greatest respect for a good ring steward…... and I can image being in a situation that you are in a strange country with different judging procedures how much the judge would rely on the ring steward

@dmcarty: I CAN tell you that SOMETIMES in SOME BREEDS - someone will use the dogs name if it's a well publicized call name just so the judge can here it. Most of us learn to tune that stuff out. I did have someone once use the entire name on the table "good dog kennel name first name rest of name" which was pretty stupid sounding and quite obvious - usually a LOOK is enough to stop it. Oh my how VERY gauche. :)
