  • Hello and welcome:D You have some lovely dogs.

  • Thank you everyone!
I've broken my camera unfortunately :(( But recently our daughter Alya (Itury Puzzle Abimbola Aliet Anulika)visited us with her owner, my friend Tatiana.

  • Hej and welcome to the forum.
I have been very busy for a while, please excuse my late reply to your introduction.
It seems, as if there are a few more black and white Basenjis in Moscow than I have known off. I am owned by Lis Glamur Velikaya Panda-Monkey, born in November 2007 in Moscow. I think your black and white girl, Rita?, looks quite familiar to me. Is it possible, that maybe her mother is Gabriella Etual Hanacek?

    Many greetings from Denmark

    Esther

    Hi:) Nice to meet you!
Nice to meet russian basenjis here!
No, my Rita is no way ralative to Gabriela. Her mother is Rus Ahmar's Yashma and father Rebessita Tango Massai, she's not from Moscow, but from St. Petersburg

  • Aha, but she looks really very "familiar". http://www.seelenfreund.dk/Englisch/Panda-engl.html

Sergey, the owner of Panda's Mom, told me, that they had a trip to St. Petersburg to have a blood drawing for Margo, which was then carried to Finnland. The blood was sent and somehow got lost somewhere, so they would have to do all again, to have the B's Fanconi tested. It seems as if things are still not that easy in Russia…. and distances which have to been travelled are really huge....

    Regards,
    Esther

  • soulmate , B/w are my favourites ;)))
    Your Panda's very cute!!!
Rita's a little bit alike with the face with her, but as I read-Rita's a little bit smaller(she's the smallest girl in my Kennel)-38cm and 8,5-9kg

  • They are all beautiful. They all look so sweet together. One very special happy family. Great pictures thank you for sharing them with us.

It is now being done with cheek swab, in fact they prefer NOT to have blood sent. So now it is easier for everyone to have it done.

  • Pat, they cannot order the swap kits from USA due to that it still is Russia…. as far as I understood Sergey. I have told him several times, that the cheek swap kits are available and make things more easy.....

Do you know if anyone from Russia has tried to contact Jon Curby about not being able to get the swabs? I can ask him is you want?

  • Hi Katerina,
welcome to the forum, i'm sure you will enjoy it. You have four lovely Basenjis , one of each colour, how nice.

don't know about that, but I can try to find out. I think the main problem would be to transfer the money to the USA and/or to get the cheek swap kits into Russia. But this is only, what I think of it. Maybe it would be a good idea if the Russian breeders would contact Jon Curby….. what do you think?

  • Welcome - a few questions - when is Tim Spirit Dzhubili born ? and who are the parents to your newest litter, please?

    thank you

  • Hello everybody :))) Thanks for such a warm reception.
We have good news-we've gave blood for tests in Finland and now are waiting for the results.
I want to apologoze to our russian breeders, I haven't had the recent information. Most of them passed the test, ordering saleva tests in the USA. I'm sorry or desinformation.

PiaMerete, Tim Spirit Dzubili was born on the 2th of January 2007.

    Thank you.

Thank you, Rhonda. We will try not to get our feelings hurt that she isn't ears-back, tail-wagging at us all the time!

@CrazyBasenjiMom said in Hey there! Meet Tars!: He mostly basenji, but not full, he doesn't have the ears, t he tails a give away too, is it curly? 23 is kinda heavey for a Basenji full grown, I wish 23 was heavy for a full grown Basenji, but it really is not. In fact it's in the middle with many weighing much more. I have seen some pretty large poorly bred, but also some big ones who were largely African years ago in NC at the nationals. I have seen a lot of basenjis whose tails were not right also, so that doesn't eliminate being basenji. But obviously no way to know for sure. I'd go with mix also, especially if those ears aren't fully erect soon. In ears...they SHOULD be up... but that isn't always true even of registered basenjis: https://www.basenji.org/african/lubb0001.htm One major break from the early development trend is African puppy ears. Both domestic & 3/8 litters had upright ears in approximately a week, while the Africans took much longer. In fact, 2 puppies went to their new homes at 15 weeks of age and their ears were not consistently up although they did finally come up; Roos between 17 & 18 weeks and Roosters by 4 months. <<

wow! Uzie speaks volumes about how good are you with him :-) Vito has a sweet temper, amazing thing considering that a masting bite and broke his jaw when he was a puppy, now he is healed from that but get a little bend on the jaw but eats and has a good bite. I had a question about him, i brush well my brother brush him and get a ton of fur i brush my girls and get nothing.. seems like he has double or strong fur.. and is not like hers. im wondering what kind of fur basenjis has? double coated is possible?

That is so interesting…! The Pom no doubt contributed the curly tail, the Pointer the height and the Maltese the colour ;-) But, super cute boy (and he can still have a lift in Moby the Poochmobile!)
