Can you please list the health tests the parents have had; up to date doesn't give enough information. I would like to know which tests, and what the results were.

  • Can I ask, is this your first litter?
Where did the sire/dam come from, which line?
Also, do the parents have any show Championships in the immediate line?
This info is important when your selling puppies like you are.

  • what is the ACA?

  • I think that ACA refers to American Canine Association, Inc.

  • Hi Everyone,

Thank you for all the constructive questions for Maylin about her ad. Some of them should be definitely discussed more in other threads like (AKC / ACA Registrations) instead of here and added to the for sale posting guidelines.

While helping this member with their Ad to adhere to our posting guidelines we put the age of the puppies to be taken home to be 8 weeks based on the information Maylin provided. After recalculating it turned out that its actually 10.5 weeks since the puppy is already a week old. So that should clear up some confusion in this thread.

Now this whole thread is edited by admin since it was going a little off tangent. We contacted Maylin privately and she should provide additional information everyone has requested shortly.

Lets educate and help each other,
    Happy Holidays!

  • Hello Everyone, first of all let me start by I'm truly sorry for not responding back to you sooner ~ I have no computer @ home and the only one I have full access to is the one @ work and work has been hectic lately… any how Yes this is our first litter, both Dam and Sire have all their medical records up to date as far as their vaccinations abd keeping them heart worm free, their both on heartguard and frontline the dam although did get her hips check for hip displasma before we even thought of breeding, The vet said our dam was perfect and should have no problems at the time of birth. as far as the line of basenji's I'm currently looking into that I beleive they are from different lines unless your asking if their related if thats the question the the answer is NO. (the dams face looks more like fox and the sire face is not as pointy)... last but not least the Sire does have show Champion in his immediate line. please write any additional questions.

bottom line, I just want to find good homes for the puppies...

    Take care everyone,
    Maylin

Not too many responsible breeders in Fla... go to www.basenji.org and search by state. Note that Basenjis only come in season once a year and 99% of puppies are only born Nov/Dec/Jan, so you most likely will not find any pups this time of year

If you will look under this heading at yodeldogs, you will find someone with four red and white pups and two adult basenjis that are available in the Atlanta area. These are beautifull Basenjis. I recently adopted an adult female from her and we are thrilled with her. I know it is a long trip, but believe me, it is worth it. jerry d.

Breeding once a year actually is not a problem health wise. Breeding to produce pets for income… not so much.

Folks, This thread has been closed, pending review and moderation. Please respect our forum community rules and guidelines. If you feel that you need stop posting for a while because of a conflict with other members, please step back and email us directly before posting publicly about the issue. Best way to to handle arguments on the public forum is to just let go and move on. http://www.basenjiforums.com/showthread.php?t=374 COURTESY AND RESPECT The purpose of this board is to provide a place for Basenji owners to make connections, exchange information and assist and encourage one another. It is above all a friendly environment for online discussion. Don't be rude to others, or make an argument personal If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all Know the difference between a difference of opinion and a personal attack Don't try to "win" an argument by repeating yourself over and over Don't tell others what to post Don't bash other members Keep it clean, don't use profanity Why can't I tell this user what an idiot he/she is; every single thing he/she posts is just so wrong? If you can't find a respectful way to express your difference of opinion, then you're better off saying nothing at all. Don't talk down to other posters, lecture them or be rude and dismissive. Disagreement is fine, but attacking another poster personally will get you in trouble and result in a ban from the forum. But he started the fight by attacking me! Can't I defend myself? This is a forum for the discussion of Basenjis, not a dueling society. If you feel attacked, please report it to the admin and then ignore the poster, respond to another thread. Remember, however much you were provoked, if you attack a poster personally then you are just as guilty of breaking the rules. Why can't I tell a poster that he's breaking the rules? This board has a moderator. Telling other people what to do is rude, derails the conversation even further and often ignites flame wars. Please just report the user to the admin and move on.
