I wish they could go everywhere with me but I couldn't imagine trying to get them on a plane. We are going to lake Erie in a couple week for a long weekend and they are coming with us. This campground is very dog friendly, this is the campground's annual halloween party before shutting down for the winter. Everyone is asking us to bring our dogs and of course they will be dressed up in costumes. After that we are taking a week to go to Cancun. Dog's can't go but will staying with a friend that has 1 acre fenced and her 3 dogs and mine were practically raised together. So we call it a sleepover. Everyone plays until exhaused so not a lot of time to get into trouble. I will miss them while I'm gone but know they are in great hands with my friend.
Hello Again!! Missed you All!

I miss the Jack stories here.
Seems the remembered stories still stir the heart, make us cry, most importantly, make us remember. They touched us in many ways.
Welcome Home Geoff. Thank you. For all you do. Dawn

Thank You Snorky!!
I need some help checking if the testing was done on the Dam and Sire for my litter…I went to the site and typed in their show names, but Ive never done it before...so Im lost. THANKS
Also!! If any of you knoe anything about the Sire and Dam let me know what you think THANKS
-
Did you find them on the OFA site? If not, the dam in Fanconi clear and hips OFA good, and for the sire, Fanconi carrier. No Cerfs…

Okay THANKS!! So…I feel silly, is that bad that he is a carrier? Should I be worried about their testing?
-
Since the dam has tested Clear, none of the puppies will be affected. This is a responsible way to breed Carriers so their good genes get passed on without producing puppies that will become sick.
-
All of the pups will be either clear or carrier and will not develop Fanconi.
Rugosa Basenjis explains it pretty clearly, with colorful B heads and all… -
Sire is Probable Carrier, But Dam is Probable Clear. This means that the worst you could get from the pups is Carriers. It is not a bad thing. It WOULD be bad if both were listed as Carrier, or one Carrier and one Effected. I would ask the breeder though about Why Sire was not Hip or CERF and why Dam is not CERF.

Wakan Basenjis are really nice dogs. Before I got my boy from Midge [Seregenti], I thought about getting a pup from them. They had a waiting list of people before they even bred their dogs. I was put on the waiting list but found Midge shortly after so I took my name off. However, I was very impressed by the dogs & also by the breeder. Their webpage is also a great resource for basenji information.
