Good price on DAP Diffusers

  • I am not sure if this post is acceptable or not so please delete it Mods if it violates the rules.

The Comfort Zone D.A.P. has been recommended many times in this forum for dogs with separation anxiety and other issues. I just found a place where it is on sale this week for extraordinarily low prices. With the economy crunch being as it is, I thought this may help some folks.

    Revival Animal Health D.A.P. Diffusers

  • Thanks for the tip, I have been using a DAP collar for a month and I must say it helped my girl be calmer. Getting to the end of the month period after which I have to replace it (and I have noticed that that tends to whine a lot when she sees that I am about to leave her with my "dogsitter"). I will put this type of collar on for another month as when it is "working" she stops trying to steal food and being agitated. I was told by the vet to use it for another month and then take it off for a couple of days at a time so that she wouldn't get too used to it! Difficult to know f I can leave it on all the time as I have a very anxious dog, perhaps the diffuser is best but I don't really know what is best. However, thanks for the tip, half the price of what I paid last month.

  • Oh My!! That is an excellent price!!

I don't know if you feed your dog before you walk him, but if you don't, you might find walking him first early morning, after waking up will take care of this issue. My boy basenji won't even eat until he has "done" his business. Same in the afternoon. Walks will empty them and make them hungery.

Be aware that if a Basenji gets really stressed he is well able to chew through the metal covering of the cable of heating pads. I have never let my Basenjis sleep without making sure they're very warm at nights especially the older ones who aren't always able to maintain their body heat. Some of mine pile up on each other and some sleep with me. I maintain the sleeping area at 70 degrees F for those that sleep in the living room. I hate warm bedrooms myself!

Awww, it'll fly by im sure! :D Maya was a snuggly baby right from day 1! She gets under the duvet and snuggles up right next to me with her head on the pillow. Even 2 years on she is exaqtly the same every night without fail. And she is so WARM! Saves on the heating in this cold weather :D

My past Basenjis did great off leash right away and stayed right with me. This youngster is not aloof and loves to play and see everybody. So it was too early to try that test.

Thanks for the encouragements and the site full of helpul tips. Elisabeth, bravo pour votre français, c'est très gentil d'avoir fait ce geste! I actually managed to let my dog alone in the flat for a full 15 minutes (needed to do it beacuse I had to move a piece of furniture and had to take her car crate out) and…no problem! She sleeps with me most times but since she's had her DAP collar on again, she sleeps on her own in her basket and comes and see me in the morning. It is a good new start. Will take her out for an extra long walk today as it has stopped raining! Thanks for all your advice, et merci!

Lovely photos, so glad your pack is accepting of the "new puppy". I feel that if you just expect basenjis to be good, they will be!
