The other day I was working in my garden (finally got some spring weather to get started) and keeping an eye on EL D - to make sure he wasn't laying on the newly planted. He was just sitting nicely a little ways away seemingly enjoying the sun – with an old plant pot lying nearby . As soon as he saw me looking at him, he got this basenji gleam in his eye , and snatched the pot and started running with it, all the while keeping an eye on me :D. What a little tease he can be.

@Rita:

What about memory foam on one of those heated pads that should make the hips better all warm. Soft so don't hurt hips and heat make it nice kind a extra.

the memory foam beds are pretty thick, i'm not sure the heat would go through from underneath. but they do make heated inserts for beds - that may work.

and by all means, i'm sure your "pup" would enjoy it. some are like memory foam chips, i'm not sure how that would be. BUT if you want a nice thick foam bed (not memory foam) and your dog isn't distructive, you can go to the craft/fabric/upholstry store and buy some really thick foam. I've done this for an insert in a bed

Hm never thought of that! Thanks for the suggestion! 🙂 I actually found a site that does engraved logos on their tags & so I could get a football engraved on the one side with his info on it. We'll see though!

We take our kids as many places as we can…

hiking
swimming
running/jogging- nature trails
parks
doggie events (like ours!! www.firstgiving.org/bdawg)
I've taken Lexi to do lure coursing a few years ago- it was fun, but she wasn't as in to it as I thought she might be; our dobie was FAR superior! lol

That is a great idea, but it should be an adolescent for sure (seems to be the most trying stage). My mom also really liked our dog (the look, the no bark, typical things most people like) and she quickly changed her ideas. We were telling her about the time we had to babysit another dog and the things she did to let us know that she did not like another dog in our house (she did some very naughty things)! My mom said 'wow she is really a manipulating dog'. I said, yeah they are definately not a breed for everyone.
