I am pretty sure you can't just look at a mix and declare what it is. Scientific studies have debunked that over and over. Best to do a DNA test, in my opinion. I have a mix who was advertised as a Basenji Mix, and her DNA results confirmed it. If you just looked at her and made a judgement, it would be mixed: her color was all askew, her tail was half-curled, she was smaller and featured more slender face and feet than a pure-bred B.
But, apparently, the 1/4 Min Pin (the ONLY other DNA in her sample) contributed some significant traits. Behavior and personality wise, Basenji rules the day. Again, I recommend a DNA test, and they improve by the day.
What is this other B identity thing that is mentioned in this thread? Is it also a DNA test, or something else?
Oh, and hey, your baby is way cute!

New picture request!
How about people post pictures of their basenjis stretching out those running legs! We all have experienced the "basenji 500s" so show us those photos
Here's mine:
This is Dallas & his basenji buddy Curly doing a basenji 500 at the dogpark. The other little dogs tried to catch up but there was not a snowballs chance in you know where I LOVE watching them run!

I am no good at capturing good action shots. I do so love the pictures that the photographers at the racing events get of my dogs. So not really the B500 but here are some great action photos of my dogs.

Those are great photos! I love the way puppis bodies look when they are running full force. They looks like a bulldozer! LOL
And lvoss - LOVE the action shots! You have some muscular & very athletic Bs right there! I love seeing them when their entire body is stretch stright in mid-air. It's so fascinating!

Yes, I love the photos of them flying. I am always amazed at how much air they get when they are fully extended. I also love the shots of them side by side almost perfectly matched stride for stride. The one I posted in the last set were brother and sister. Here is one of mom and daughter.

I was sitting behind the island in the kitchen just holding the camera ready to snap at what I thought was the right time and my wife got the dogs all riled up. Roo, the puppy, obliged by doing a run-by while Lion, one of the 7 year olds had hopped up on the chair in the distance.

Hahaha. Look at that face! You can tell he was picking up speed! LOL
