I have a friend in England and sometimes I act as a go between for stuff from he buys from ebay that they refuse to ship over seas (usually guitar stuff)
I received this super rare demo record LP so I sat it close the middle of our dinning room table that already had a bunch of junk on it.
While sick, Mr Naughty wants me to play with him or take him for a walk or what ever. I ignored him, in a few minutes we hear this big RIPPPPPPP.
You guess it, out of all the stuff on the table he picked the vintage irreplaceable thing that did not belong to me to rip up. My wife got it away before he completely destroyed it but he ripped the cover right down the middle, but did not hurt the Vinyl.
The neighbors I'm sure could hear my NOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo! Blocks away.
I often wondered what the breeder meant by "You need a good sense of humor to own a Basenji" I thought, what they are funny like a clown????

Oh my gosh. NOTHING like that!
We haven't really had any serious casualties here. {knocking very hard on wood}. Keoki has only torn two things that didn't belong to us – when my niece was in the later weeks of pregnancy she had one pair of sandles that she could wear with any degree of comfort and he killed one of those, and just last week he ate her baby's sock.
While she wasn't thrilled with him, she understood: she's the one with three pit bulls, one of which has eaten about 10 remote controls and a couple of cells phones, and another which probably destroyed over $400 worth of various things when she first rescued him.

Medjai has chewed up several things, but the largest were probably a couple blankets and a roommates really expensive shirt. Aside from that, he's mostly just eaten up severl crate pads, which do add up to be quite a bit though.

Zahra ate some pieces off DH's Keen sandals, Chase chewed my iPod Shuffle (the older version).
Zahra doesn't chew too much, she just pees on things.

With our first B we where, let's say….........uneducated.:eek:
We where down stairs and I said to the wife, where's Max? Ah, don't know??
Ran up stairs and before I got to the top of the stairs I could see foam flying in the air, like it was shot out of the cushions of the loveseat. As I got closer all I could see was Max's butt and curly tail.........he was burried in a hole he made in the cushion of this loveseat. I mean head and shoulders down in this hole and still digging, foam peices flying.MAX!!!!!:mad: :mad: :mad: He stops, pulls his head out of the hole, looks at me and just goes right back to digging.........got to get to China Dad.....sorry don't have time to chat.
It wasn't a new loveseat, it had been abused by my two sons as they where growing up...........but it still had some life left.:rolleyes: Needless to say the G-men took it away on trash day.:rolleyes:
We where quickly educated. I never underestimate my B's............EVER!:D :D

ahh man nothing too terrible here.. lots of bras/underwear. my favorite pair of flip flops.
mia chewed up the 3rd charger weve had for the laptop.. 2 weeks after we got it.. still works but the wires are exposed. lol

Dallas hasn't gotten to anything really bad. He chewed a whole in one of my large pajama shirts [boyfriend's old college shirt] & chewed through one of my expensive pair of undies. I was so mad at that one! My fault though as I have "been trained" :rolleyes: Otherwise he tries to chew on the cardboard boxes under the bed & the carpet but we usually squirt him before any damage is done.

well I am sure some of you saw the carpet damage Mia did a few months back, that costs us about 100$ to get the tile guy to lay 3 tiles (yeah I know a bit steap!) and my dad had to buy the transition stirps in order for Mia to stop pulling the carpet back! Hopefully some day this house will all be tiled!!!

I did think of something that she has ruined, before DH left on deployment for almost 8 months he had installed lights in the backyard, laid the wire underneath the grass and had the control box attached to the side of the house. The lights were on an automatic timer so when I got home at night and it was dark they were always on. One night I came home and the lights were not on, I looked in the backyard, they were still plugged into the electrical outlet but were not working. Confused I thought maybe they were like Christmas lights and if one light was out the rest would be out. Then I saw Zahra chewing on something, she had chewed through the electrical wire. How she didn't not get electrocuted I will never know since the power was on them and they were on a timer.
I ended up digging up the wire, throwing all of the wire and lights away and disconnecting the electric box from the side of the house and throwing it away too. DH still has not noticed that the lights are gone, I think his 8 month deployment made him forget that he had installed them! Lucky for Zahra!

Tosca has also eaten through a laptop cord and we needed to get a new one. Also, she slipped running off the couch and pulled the i key off of my laptop. Luckily it was still under warranty so I just called DELL and got a new one. The other thing was at my brother-in-laws. They have shock collars for their dogs, the kinds where there is a unit and then has the radius for the shock. Tosca was tied up outside near that and took the power cord and chewed through it, I felt bad for that one!

Kiya now likes to eat wood or chew door knobs. I know she is teething but c'mon….she is like a little termite chewin away at the corners of my brand new house!!!! EEEKKKKKK -
I had a down winter coat with a snap-on fur trim around the hood. One day, I carelessly threw it on the bed instead of hanging it up. The next thing I see is Senji with the fur trim in his mouth, leaping with glee at his "kill" and then hiding behind the sofa to rip it to shreads. Otherwise, he usually just rips paper…especially the kind in gift bags or paper towels.

Blaze has done the sofa thing, but he zipped the covers back up. We didn't notice until mom had her women's club over for tea and they sunk into the springs!
He also ate $7000 worth of blinds in the hot tub room, just to get a fly. He was so proud of himself when we came home and saw all the blinds chewed off at the two feet mark…. Dad was not so impressed...
My brother's signed Nirvana Unplugged CD, just after Kurt Cobain killed himself...
The worst, which I can laugh about now, was the AAA battery. The x-rays showed the battery, a knife handle, the head of a toothbrush and three wierd figurines. After sifting through his poop, to ensure he passed the battery, the awkward figurines turned out to be lego men. :)
oh, and the upstairs carpet. Walking up the stairs onto the lush, light grey carpet... to find puddles of blue ink from a pen...
Nothing so far in my house (knocks on wood), only the parent's house, as a puppy... -

The worse thing Cory has chewed on is the corner of the chair rail by the dining room window. We had a chair by the window so she could watch the cars, people, etc and apparently she thought of the wood as the popcorn to go along with the show. She has chewed up plenty of pens and some old sheets used as crate bedding. She also chewed up the antenna of an old cell phone. Robyn warned us that Jayden came from her "termite litter" but he has proven to be more of a boll weevil. He has chewed holes in (and rendered unwearable) a number of items of clothing including two of DH's shirts and one of my sweaters. He chews on the inside of his plastic crate. He has eaten several large chunks from the outside of his plastic crate and is working on Cory's crate as well. He has gotten his lower jaw lodged in the handle of a metal basket that he was chewing on.
Our last dog, a Lab, was the worst (best?) at destroying things. She destroyed two new cabinet doors and chewed through 2 automobile seat belts (not cheap to replace). She ate every catalog and telephone book she could find. (She loved the binding….I don't think I want to think about what is in the glue that made it so desirable.) She also ate a couple of beloved childhood momentos. She was good preparation for having a basenji!

Well, my sweetie Sahara, has chewed up plenty. Not so bad now days, but I did find a toothbrush in her bed this morning. DH loves to leave it on the side of the bathroom basin, even he knows she will get it, duh!!! We have gotten alot better putting things up out of her reach, we learned that pretty fast but not quite fast enough. She chewed the wood on 2 of my favorite chairs that DH bought me for Christmas (he has to repair them, in the attic for now) new coffeetable, new endtables, but by far the worst was she broke a tooth off of a top plate of dentures,($100) repair and bent into $600 eyeglasses, we were not happy campers. You Gotta Love Them!!!!

If she doesn't respond to it sprayed on the woodwork, then give her a spray right in the mouth…likely she won't want to go anywhere near it anymore. You have to reapply the bitter apple about every other day so it keeps working.

Lessee here….our dogs haven't dont too much damage. Lots of underwear...lots of socks...at least one pair of jeans (one was brand new!)....I think the most expensive damage was done by Querk in one of his fits about being closed away from girls in heat. He ripped out a piece of vinyl siding off of the house (the J channel that all the horizontal pieces fit into), luckily we were doing construction on the house, and our guys were able to fix it easily, and not too expensively. And then he also ripped away about 2ft x 3ft of paneling in the kitchen. We haven't fixed that yet, as we are planning to re-do the kitchen eventually anyway (he must have known). Of course he has also destroyed a few plastic kennels, and plastic pans that go in wire kennels, and whatever fabric he could pull into a kennel.
