  • Here is them together again! :)

  • How cute… it is so much fun when litter mates can meet up..... Mia looks like... hmmm... better these two bite on each other then me!!!

  • yes Mia was not impressed, you could tell she was thinkin "Ok you just brought this random puppy in my home last month don't tell me we're keeping this one too!" lol…
I do want to get Mia tested, her sire and dam was King Clyde Eastwind and Saadie East Bank. I could not find them on the site to see their results, but Tommy (the breeder from port Orange, FL) said he had never had a puppy with Fanconi.

Ha, ha!! Of course he hasn't!! Puppies don't get Fanconi!! I bet he hasn't had any puppies die of old age either

  • If you can't find them on the OFA site then they have not been DNA Tested… so a good idea to have her done. They are also not in Sally Wallis's pedigree database which says that they are most likely not AKC registered? Is Mia AKC registered?...

  • yes Mia is AKC and so are her parents

  • Bottom line, if they are not showing up in the OFA data base, then they have not been DNA test. Have you checked to see if Mia's grandparents are in the OFA database?

  • I don't know who her grandparents are, how would I find that out (website)? I have the registration #'s for both her parents.

  • I sent you a PM but if a dog is AKC registered you can always order a pedigree from the AKC online store.

You can order a pedigree from AKC, www.akc.org and then go to the store link. You can order it on line as an electronic file for 10.00.

Most breeders give you an extended pedigree?

Pretty sure there is a board post about it, but I THINK there was a contamination issue or something. Certainly have not heard of any issues in a long time.

The more data that is in the data base, the better people can use the that information as this is a Linkage test only… and errors can be made either human or test....

No the parents were not. Most of her dogs that have been tested have been negative for fanconi so I figure my chances are good that EL D will be fine.

@etzbseder: Thanks, I've seen that before, but forgot about it. After looking at that, it shows that my answer would be: Clear pups ONLY means that neither parent is affected, and that does not change with multiple clear pups. The only thing that shows any determination of the parents is a test of the parent themselves (or if their grandparents are clear). correct. The more clear pups (with no affecteds or carriers) you had from the breeding of the same two animals, the more LIKELY it is that the parents are clear…but it certainly would not be a for sure.
