Can you tell it's snowing?

  • Too cute! How much snow did you get?

  • They look like they need a blanket. It's cold in my house. We're supposed to get 4 inches or more tonight. (Saturday)

We were supposed to get 6-10 inches, but right now we only have about 3. They're saying another 4-5 tonight with freezing rain. Perfect couch weather:)

  • My girls (Basenji and a Lab-mix) spent 2 and a half hours outside with me in snow packed 25 degree weather. It's like Jenny B thinks she's a lab the way she frolics in the snow. She does wear a wool sweater and spends lots of time licking her cold paws when we come inside, but as long as I'm outside, she wants to be out too.

  • We have almost 8 inches of snow right now. It's blowing, drifting and more snow is falling. Both Duke & Daisy dashed right out into the snow this morning - frolicking all the way in circles. They act like it's the best day ever. They were out for at least 10 minutes - when they stood still and started lifting their paws up and down, one by one. Since - then they've been out 3-4 times, dashing all the way for just a few minutes each time.

We have winter blizzard storm warnings all day. Glad it is Sunday. I think I'll put my Christmas tree up and get it decorated.

If you leave things in their reach (any puppy/young dog) will get into trouble.... pick things up.... put them away, they do not know the difference between their toys/chews and things like remotes/glasses/etc... they have your scent on them. You have to work on crate training if you can't secure a place for them.

Keep in mind, unless you correct them "in the act" they really have no clue that they have done something wrong, or more to the point "what they did wrong"…. shredding is pretty natural to a Basenji

Yes, Bungwa will toss any of his toys into the air and catch them but definitely will not catch anything I throw. He has no competition because the others just look and say 'Boooring'!!! Interesting about your best hunters being fetchers, Quercus. I wonder if there's a reason in it or whether it's a coincidence!?

Sounds good! I'll check w/the vet, it soundslike putting super glue in cracks on feet and hands. I'll also look into something to keep him warm. I used to guide down in s Utah. I love that area. Everything east of Capital Reef onto the eastern slopes of Boulder Mt. Kicked around in the San Rafael Swell and down s Cedar Mesa during my off time. Beautiful area. Thanks agan. Greg

My basenji mix also loves to destuff her toys. I stick to the $1.00 cheapies and rather enjoy watching her go after it. Glad to know others experience this also.
