Ask the breeder how big the sire and dam are. That's a good idea. My first basenji, who was a champion, weighed nearly 26 pounds when she matured. My 2nd one would have been about that, but thanks to steroids, we did good to keep her at 30. My current rescue is a giant. We won't go there. I first dreamed of a SMALL dog, maybe 15 pounds tops after years of being a BIG DOG person (rottweilers and chows). I don't see that ever happening.
Tyson - New Edition to our Family
-
We had an opportunity this week to add to our family. Tyson had to be placed in a home ASAP. Everything worked out and we got him on Monday. Tyson(male) is the brindle, Chevy (female-Tri), Chase (male-red/white). Things are going okay but Chevy being the female is been quite a little bitch to him but each day is getting a little better.

Tyson compliments Chevy & Chase beautifully. Congrats on your enlarging family. Now all you need is a black & white. Maybe next year?? Curious, did the other basenji get adopted?
-
Yes⦠to a breeder in New Jersey who is going to show him (Rocky).
-
Rocky did get adopted as well. Kelli placed him with a friend of another breeder she knows in New Jersey! So I might see him as races if I can get Lenny to do some lure coursing! Why, were you interested, Jill? wink wink
Congrats on adding Tyson to your B-family! He spent a weekend at my place with Rocky when Kelli had taken Lenny racing, and they were a lot of fun! Lots of energy!
