    ok…ok... I joined the forum (and seriously it was as easy as googling "basenji forum"!!) I am really enjoying the meet ups at Laurel Canyon on Saturday mornings. It is amazing to see all the basenjis together and also to meet such nice people who totally get my dog's personality. Yea.

    Looking forward to more Saturday mornings.

    The other day, I had the thought about dog CPR. What would I do if one of my kids was critically injured? I know that you can do CPR on dogs but don't know exactly how its done. Have any of you taken "doggie CPR"?

    Hey there, Laurel Canyon B-gang! I posted a 1-minute video of Ziggy in the "Show off Your Dog" section. It's called "Ziggy's Complaint." The poor guy was so unhappy when I was out of the house for only a few minutes!

    Hello all,

    I am new to the basenji forum. I have been trying to find other basenji's in the area for my year old basenji (Sherman) to play with, but with no luck so far.

    Even if we had to travel a bit to get to a dog park where Sherman could play with other B's, it would be worth it. Does anyone have any specific days/times that you get together with other basenji owners in the southern california area?

    The Laurel Canyon Dog Park is close to Burbank just about two citys away.
    It would be great to meet some new basenjis. We meet every saturday around 10am ish and I would say we usually average 6 B's its really cool to see them all together.

    Maybe one of these weeks Sherman and I can make it out to the park. Would definitely be worth the drive to see him playing with other B's!!

    That's me and Tyler; we were on Tuesday night at 10–pics are in the LA INK post under Chit Chat. It will air again Feb 26 at 9pm. And then, like all reality shows will repeat ad nauseum.

    Sorry Tyler and I haven't been to Saturday mornings lately – we've been going everywhere else: Runyon, Long Beach Dog Beach, Santa Monica mountains.

    Although I was at Laurel Canyon park today and there were 8 basenjis there at once! Crazy!! I wanted to get a picture of them all together but as you know, that would be hard.

    As some of you know, the Z-Pack is moving north (to Portland for a while, then settling in Seattle). We've had such a GREAT time hanging out with all the fabulous Bs and wonderful people at Laurel Canyon. Best wishes to all of you and we'll definitely keep in touch through this forum.

With the COVID-19 virus meetups were on hiatus but now that some dog parks are opening up meetups for Basenjis are starting up again. I live in San Diego so I really have to think about driving 1.5 hours with 2 senior Basenjis. Have fun! Lynn Bilotta

    We are still in Reno but there is an even better dog park. I don't know which side of town you are located but it is definitly worth it. It is located in Hidden Valley-its called the Link Piazzo Dog park and it is fenced all the way around and they have a small dogs side and a large dogs side. I usually take Congo there and there is another B there that is a red and white B named Misty. I have had some problems up in Rancho San Rafael, especially since it is not fenced in and McCarran BLVD is right there.

    We live outside Jacksonville,Fl. but I have a son in Savannah that I visit. Seren Jane and I would love to meet with other Basenji's and their owners. How about when it gets a bit warmer? Keep in touch and let me know when we can meet up. :) My cousin who lives nearby has recently taken in a rescue Basenji perhaps she would bring Lily too. Lily has Fanconi, but is on medication and doing well. My cousin previously had 2 Basenji's until they passed away a few years ago.
