• Here is what my friend does…

    Turkey, beef or Chicken Jerky
    Ingredient

1 pound turkey meat, sliced thin

    3 tbsp soy sauce

    1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce

    Instructions
Mix all ingredients together in a marinade dish. Mix together and add strips of turkey, chicken or beef into marinade. Marinate for 8-24 hours in the fridge, depending upon how often you shake mixture and how flavorful you want it.

Take strips out of marinade and lightly dampen with towel to dry off excess liquid. Place in dehydrator or on sheets for oven. Dehydrate till jerky is tough/crisp. Time varies based on method of dehydration so use your best judgement (12-36 hours).

  • Pat: I'm assuming your friend uses this for her dogs? Although it sounds just fine for humans–but wanted to check see. Any experience giving this to Bs?

Yes, for her dogs… (and humans too)... I have given it to my dogs.... and at shows it makes great bait for the show ring

  • Thanks for the recipe, Pat. I may be adding a dehydrator to my Xmas list for Tyler and Zoey…. 🙂

  • that sounds really salty…

  • @annandael:

    that sounds really salty…

Yes, but you could use low sodium Soy Sauce if you are concerned about too much salt

  • Pat-I tried the recipe-my husband came home and ate the whole thing! Then I told him it was actually for the dogs-man, was he mad that it wasn't for him! He said it was really, really good. On a side note-the dogs absolutely LOVE it.

I used the lite soy sauce.

    Arlene,
    That is too funny…..

  • Too funny! 😃

  • A friend just told me about Bragg's Liquid Aminos for marinating your homemade jerky in. It has no salt added, and very low naturally occurring sodium.
