Tortoise's new home

Off Topic

  • The pond we had in our basement has been changed to a tortoise enviorment.

I think there's five or six living in there.

    :) :) :) :) :) :)

  • What happened to the little crocs?

  • The big guy in there is Bob. We've had Bob for 10 years, he needed more space. The croc and alligator, camien went some time ago. They where sold to a reptile breeder at a reptile show. We had some fish and water turtles in there, they're gone now too. Just Bob and his buddies. Bob does have a girlfriend now.;)

  • Glad Bob has a girlfriend there. Sorry to know the others have had to go. Hope they're all in better places. I couldn't have catered to them - a croc, alligator and camien? Were they your son's creatures?

Yeah, they weren't mine. I'm ok with the turtles, was never wild about most of the stuff they kept over the years.

  • a friend of ours at work has a 6 ft alligator that stays in their living room. However, he escaped. They haven't seen him in months. They think he may be in a pond by their house. He did this last year but cam in when it got too cold outside. Kind of creepy.

  • The crocs would be better off in their natural environment. Hope no one goes swiming in the pond!!!

Yikes! Mental note to self…don't swim in Columbus!

Chelsie-the B's don't get a chance to see them. The B's are in the front in a pen and the ducklings and chickens are in the back. After Shadow decided to help me butcher a chicken when we first moved in, I thought it prudent to keep them separated. They would definitely terrorize them. Yes, Robyn, I made the duck tractor. It has wheels on the one end so I can move it around. I do have a duck pen, and they will go in it when I fix the duck house. It seems rats, or something decided to make a meal of the one end and floor of the house. So, I have to fix that. I do really like it, but it won't be big enough in a couple of weeks for them. I will try to get more pics of the little monsters today. (And, the pen will work very well for one of the dogs if I ever need it!!) Yes, they grow very, very fast. If I can get a pic of them up and about, you will see how it's very hard to tell which one had the spraddle legs. The rouens are bigger than the muscoveys. There are three rouens and they have an eye stripe. Patty, thanks for the note. I told Lisa not to spend the $$ as Wheat is going to always be a virgin, but she wanted to, just for information to share with folks. I can't believe what a treat this little girl is to our family. She came all the way from Africa to find us. We are so lucky.

While I-70 and I-75 seem to be the major cross-roads in my neck of the woods, I rarely get up that way. However, if you ever find yourself on I-675, I could wave to you from the bridge near my house:) "Shiny Hiney" …LOL..I'll remember that.:)

I love Chicago…most truckers think I'm a kook for having that opinion, but I've been known to go 75 miles out of my way just to sit in Chicago traffic. :D There's a certain energy in Chicago I can't find anywhere else in the world. And yes, that says a lot...I've been in major cities from Tokyo to Prague (Praha) to Munich to Seoul as well as amost every major city in the US. There's just something about Chicago.

We used to have Blue Jays come around and really squawk and squawk. Now we have crows, mostly mornings doing the squawking, squirrels doing the whining and a woodpecker playing the drums on the telephone poles. Natures band!
