Welcome, basenjis are not cats & you teach a basenji not train.
Sounds like you are starting to understand. Welcome

Hello DewdleBug and fellow Michigander. I also have a Basenji/Beagle mix. I'd love to see your boys picture. Hope Dewey is feeling up and atom shortly. My boy Duke - a Basenji/Jack was done at 6 mos - my problem was keeping him from running around for at least the 1st week.
Enjoy the great info and fun topics on the Forums.

I'm not sure how to post pictures on this site, so check out Dew's dogster page http://www.dogster.com/dogs/509632
Yes, I also had a terrible time keeping Dewey from running around right after his surgery. And today, 4 days after, he decided he was done wearing his lampshade collar, so he got it off and chewed it up:rolleyes:

Wow! He is really REALLY cute!

He is so cuteβ¦and he sounds like a character!

Dewey is adorable!! I love his giant ears we can be dogster pals! I'll send you an invite

He has to be one of the funniest/cutest looking dogs I have ever seen (in a good way)!
I thought you stretched his proportions with a program like power Goo like on this blanket.
He is sooo cute. who knows in these days of cross breed pet dogs, he could the next big thing. I see labrodoodles all over now. I hear they are going for $1000 and have waiting lists?

Thank you so much for the compliments! Yes, Dew is a very funny looking dog and he has about a million faces he makes at me. I think that the basenji/beagle mix should be the next big thing, just because I think he's so great, but I don't know that the average person who just wants a good ol' dog could handle him
