@sanjibasenji - Unless you know what the problem would be or the result, do not just try "home" stuff... Frito Feet is comment in Basenjis for feet and DO not indicate a problem! If they are not excessive licking their feet, it should not be a problem.

The alpha dog does not squeal when nipped. You should be the alpha dog, not a litter mate. Making a noise like that shows excitement, which to an already unstable minded dog, only compounds the problem. Being the alpha is a mindset. If you watch an alpha dog, they get what they want by intimidation 99% of the time. There is very little aggression but a lot of persuasion. This is why you don’t take things off a dog, you persuade them to drop whatever it is, then remove it. Being the alpha is very much about mindset, posture, willpower, stubbornness, eye contact and voice tone. When the dog nips, straighten up and assume a commanding posture / mindset. I usually say calmly but firmly “hey” in a particular tone. They know immediately that what they just did is not acceptable and that I am serious. I also hold my hand out (not closely too them) with the palm towards them. Also, never underestimate eye contact, the alpha uses it’s eyes a lot. Notice most dogs when you stare at them will stare back and then look away. Always stay calm, never angry and always be fair.

I can either carry him the rest of the walk, or turn back home, in which case he will then trot infront of me, glancing back to tell me I'm a good pet human… I love it..I laughed so hard when I read this..Otis is the same way if it rains..simply refuses to go any further and will park his behind on his hindlegs..god forbid it touches the wet ground..once I turn around and decide to go home again he is leading the way, glancing back at me at times.

@elena86: I make boiled chicken with rice, carrots, green beans and sometimes peas. He loves it the first day, but he doesn't like eating "leftovers" the next day. And yet he'll eat an old deep-fried chicken wing that he "discovers" near the park. (And nearly rip my hand off if I try to get it away from him.) Go figure! :D :D I am also not aware of any problems with feeding chicken. Should be fine as far is I know.
