Brat Rescue and Transport; How they really treat rescues

  • Funding? With 140,000 in assets BRAT refusing to use money on a rescue in need

No, they refused to continue paying for tests that are not the correct protocol and drugs which are experimental at best. Along with your vet and pharmacist refusing to deal with you any longer after you ignored them, abused the drugs and overdosed the dog. Keep squawking until the threads deleted, everyone knows the truth just by reading the thread.

“you know who is picking up BRAT'S slack? My 75 year old mother, that is right, my elderly mother”

Actually, she is picking up your slack. You had a foster contract with BRaT. You broke it, give it a few days, court orders take time. Make sure you tell the judge you know better than qualified veterinarians and pharmacists and threaten the judge too, then let us know how that works for you.

“And who is Declan? the same B they placed 8 years ago or a different dog named Declan.?”

Then you have been receiving drugs and money for a different dog, fraud springs to mind, I imagine stiff penalties for defrauding a registered charity. Very clever, I’m sure that will work well lol. Let’s just forget about the pictures of the dogs markings.

“BRAT should be ashamed, but they have no shame.”

Yes you should be ashamed. After eight years of paying for Declan’s food and medical treatment, all BRaT wanted is to make sure he was being well looked after and given the proper treatment. But YOU know better, so you decided it’s your way only and blew BRaT off. Then you became petty and started posting lies and garbage on this forum - which will affect them not at all - in an attempt to “get back at them”. Petty, vindictive and puerile. Also totally useless as BRaT will never pay you another cent and you will lose the dog.

  • I had hoped that your absense from the forum meant that this had been resolved one way or the other.
I had hoped that you would come back online and tell us that you decided to sign the release forms so you could keep Declan....

you know who is picking up BRAT'S slack? My 75 year old mother

That's really generous of her. When you said that you found alternate funding, I didn't think you meant that you had gone to "Mommy". Is she aware that you've been receiving $500++/month for this dog's care and that you are going to expect her to keep shelling out money month after month, year after year? Or, does she think this is a one time request?

I'm not sure I understand why you are holding onto this fantasy that you are going to keep Declan and (somehow) force BRAT to continue paying $6K++/year for this pet of yours? Do you see that as a realistic expection for any possible outcome to this?

  • @westcoastflea1 So to sum up, the doctors don’t know anything, the nurses don’t know anything, the vets don’t know anything, BRaT doesn’t know anything, BRaTs veterinarians don’t know anything and the pharmacists don’t know anything. But you know it all and are happy to kill your dog....sorry, your foster dog with the wrong testing protocol and overdosing.

    Got it.

Yeah, that’s why your pharmacist and veterinarian refuse to see you lol. It’s all here in this thread. You even got shut down on this forum for recommending potentially deadly deviations from the protocol.

Just remember, everyone else who is eminently more qualified than you are is wrong....and you’re right!

  • @westcoastflea1 And then of course there is the mysterious script that is against the law, that let you have as many drugs as you want! Lmao.

“if the vet wanted a certain dose she should have made it clear, but no dose on scripts, no dose given to pharmacist. I ordered what I needed, when I wanted it, and the quantities I wanted.
Medical records make it clear dose and drug was concerning her greatly.
Not great notes either. Nothing like my last vet

How do you comply with something that does not exist? if she wanted a certain dose it should have been on the bottle and the script, it was not.”

Curious, the vet and pharmacist must not know the law and violated the law. ESPECIALLY with a recreational drug like Cabergoline.

    Ҥ13794. Labeling of prescriptions
Every drug dispensed pursuant to prescription, whether for a legend drug or not, must carry on the label the following information: the prescription number; the date of filling; the patient's name; directions for use; the name and strength of the drug and the amount dispensed, including either the brand name of the drug”

  • @westcoastflea1

Hit a nerve did I? But you come here pretending to be all concerned about the dog that YOU agreed to foster and care for. Then skipped the correct testing for a different test which is not the protocol. Changed him from the recognized treatment to a different treatment with only ONE vague study. Then miraculously got a script with no dosage or limit for a recreational drug and overdosed the dog on it.

BRaT shouldn’t come anywhere near you, nor should any basenji loving owner, not vet, nor pharmacist.....oh wait, that’s whats happened!

  • @westcoastflea1 “You are just a bit of a stalker, you do realize that?
I feel honored that you took the time to look me up. Am I supposed to be shamed by my post? Every word was true, Honey, I stick by what I say, and now 2 years later these same moderators from the post you found just recently got on facebook? and pasted an article about how great cabergoline and Retinoic Acid are.
How many dogs died in those couple of years, Cause these arrogant witches thought they knew best?”

More lies and BS lol. Curious that they posted on Facebook but somehow “forgot” to post in their own forum!

How many more would have died if you were in charge with your nefarious ideas? I wouldn’t be so worried about the dog warden given your statements, I would be worried about the DEA knocking on your door.

Cute pup. She has all the markings of a basenji. Sometimes a little mix of another breed in her is good. It will help with not having the genetic problems basenjis have.

Cody will actually eat lettuce and will often beg the leftover from my salad. He snarfs down the lettuce carrot peas or whatever else is leftover. Totally freaked out my friend who was keeping him while I was away b/c she was eating a salad and he was begging. When she gave him a piece of lettuce he ate it and begged for more. She actually called me on my cell to make sure it was ok. :) He prefers ranch dressing. Thank you very much!

Last week I tried this frozen treat idea with my 4 and they loved it. Tools: Ziploc Bag. Water. Goodies. (For medium to large dogs) Take a ziplock bag, toss in a few goodies such as 2 baby carrots, small pieces of some pupperoni, a couple table spoons of wet dog food, a few kibbles of dry dog food or other treats that they like. (Just a dab will do ya) Then add in some water. You can also add a little bit of Tang or Crystal Light sometimes. To keep variety some days fill it with a lot of water (make a big block) some days just add a cup or two. When you fill 1/2 a bag or less you can place it different ways in the freezer so it makes different shapes once it freezes. This should be ice they have to get through to get the treats, not just a bag of frozen treats. You can also toss in a Nylabone or other toys that can handle being frozen. You can also use a cheap plastic food dish and place a toy or treats in there and freeze. Takes longer for them to get the goodies out since the bowl blocks access to all the sides. For smaller dogs just add less treats and water. For small animals use an ice cube tray and toss in a treat or two per cube. Don't forget just tossing some ice in the water bowl is also entertaining! This can get messy so please be aware of the fact that ice melts if you have carpets. This is better for floors you can clean easily or outdoors.

I too am a proud owner of a rescue basenji! I stumbled across his picture on petfinder one day and said to my boyfriend Brian there is a basenji at Pet Orphans (all breed rescue in Van Nuys)! So we went over for a visit and he looked a little ruff on the edges under weight, dull coat, a little dandruff, puppymill"ish looking and about two years old. I was a little apprehensive at first, Brian on the other hand feel in love the first second. He said to me I have had basenjis for years now and I know this one is special. We took the little guy home and the rescue was hassle free we didnt have to deal with twenty million questions or home checks it was great. I beleve there is a basenji lover working there because after I have noticed they have had a few other pure B's and cute B mixes. We knew we were in love with how cute he was but we never imagined how well behaved, sweet, and easy going this little dog turned out to be. From the B's that have been in the family, one from a pet store, two from breeders, and our rescue the rescue has been the best behaved, best temperment, and the most well rounded out of them all. Everyday He puts a smile on my face and joy in my heart. I love my rescue.
