    A couple of years ago I bought a real dog bed and mine love them. Love the $12 ones as much as the $40 ones, like the sides to curl up against, or to hold their heads. I had bought big flat beds for them before, but they all really love the ones with sides. I like Buddy's idea of stuffing old quilts with foam 'egg crate', too!

    Lovely photos! your b's are gorgeous! Re: food….. after working in a dog grooming business, i must say i am amazed at the amount of people that come in with their overweight fluffies (i call them fluffies as its usually the maltese X's and shihtzus etc) that have no idea that... human food shouldnt be their diet! or what they feeding them is wrong and i dont know how many times we've tried explaining to either cut back or go on the proper food and they dont understand?! i dont understand how people can have such a hard time understanding food/nutrition for their dogs. I understand there are many different way etc which is all fine, but as long as its in the right moderation and its nothing ridiculas (such as a vegatarian diet.....deadly serious.... its like c'mon luv, they are carnivores...) anyways thats my rant :D

    old thread but posting up :) we take ours camping and she loves it of course :) biggest hassle is the whining and crying and hating the ride to the camp areas ! we use a cable over a leash but have a leash for walks and have her in a harness all but at night when she sleeps we tent camp so we picked her up a fuzzy jacket to wear at night and we run a small tent heater also so she stays nice and warm lots of fleece blankets to cuddle up in she is sleeping in a soft crate ? and we keep thinking boy she is going to chew through that some night and want to join us ! hahaha reason we dont let her sleep with us camping is she has a thing for down and feathers and we all have down bags ! so we joke about waking up to a tent full of feathers if she did sleep with us ! we have watched her sit and pull feathers out of some feather pillows we have ! during the day we have a dog bed that folds and she seems to prefer sleeping in the dirt over the bed but with the needles this last trip she preferred the bed :) she also does love laying in the hammocks with us when we take a nap !     @Vicki: Coincidentally, I watched a sweet movie last night, The Fox and The Child narrated by Kate Winslett. I believe it is based on a children's book and would be very appropriate for young girls…and moms, too! http://www.digitalspy.com/movies/a120191/luc-jacquet-the-fox-and-the-child.html The coyotes don't bother my dogs, either. The coyotes around here are very brazen and show themselves during the day. The only animal I worry about is bear because my dogs would chase it. Our coyotes here are also out in the day time. We know there's a bear in our woods, but he has been there for years and has never bothered any people or pets – except for one guy whose dogs attacked it, and then it attacked him. He survived...but I bet from now on he keeps his dogs restrained.
