    I wasn't quite sure where to put this, but here I am. Johnny's stones were 100% cystine. I do have a recommendation from the lab on preventing future stones (a little ironic) but the recurrence rate would have been high. While I'm still upset about it, I think I did the right thing. If anyone would be interested in the recommendations, let me know and I will try to post them.

    Pat, I will email it to you separately. Apparently, it just wants to save is as a picture and when I reduce it, it goes all blurry. If anyone else would like it, email me to shadow_brat2004@yahoo.ca This is just on more thing on my list of why not to stop strip testing.

    How are UTI's caused?

    Anytime I have a dog that has a UTI, I add extra water to their food. I also give Cranberry pills. I sometimes give Vitamin C but that is based on the ph level of the urine and the recommendation of the vet. My dogs rarely have crystals but perhaps I catch the UTIs early. It seems like rescues I get from shelters almost always have UTIs. I think they get it from either holding it too long because they do not want to get their kennel dirty or because they eat dry food and drink water separately. Jennifer

    It is coming back through your e-mail, as long as you are the one who registered your dog with the CPP site. For me the blood left europe june 23rd and I was surprised I got the results so soon, when I open my e-mails I thought the CPP was just telling me they got the blood in, then I think I almost fell out of my chair as the 1st result I saw was an affected, in the process I missed one and was two frightned to open the last one, the clear one was the last one, gave me a bit of rest to go back and notice that probably carrier was not a bad result. The thing is I didn't expected Thorn to be an affected, Eos I was a bit worried as well as for her and Thorns kids, Timbo and Vahli, a few people are saying her father died of fanconi. But I don't feel I am alone in this and I am sure of something, it is the last time I will ever get worried about getting a probably affected puppy, thanks to the test and people who made it happen.

    Shadow ran his first 3 races on Sunday. He came in as the turtle, but he finished! Oval courses are what he ran about 400 yds each time. The last time around there were about 20 people at the finish line cheering him on. He sure didn't run fast, but he finished.
