  • Lysh, hope your hospital stay goes by quickly and you are home with your girls soon!

  • They look great… as does the new "digs"..... hope your hospital stay is a quick one!

  • So happy to hear they are doing so well. Great pics. Thank you for sharing them with us.
Hope your stay at the hospital is swift.

  • thank you. it will be for the 2 wks which sucks but then im right for a year or two again :)

i am very lucky to have my girls. they are my primary motivation apart from my OH and family. they give me lots of smiles and adventures hehe. hopefully when i get back i only get a part time job, then i get to spend even more time with them :)

thought id post this video i took the other night, i was bored and not interested in my dinner (thats where the girls come in handy of course). they crack me up :)

  • I understand what you mean when they do 'donuts'. I also have to comment on the top of the pop bottle. Mine are very adept at getting the tops off too! I laughed when I saw the pop bottle!!

haha yay another donut fan :) Hope does them when shes super excited and puts me into fits of laughter. Ebony doesnt seem to find the need to do them. Its great that they are so different. I enjoy watching the 'donuts' i always try and record them but i never get the good ones cos im too busy watching.

And yes, the popped bottle lid thing is Ebonys little niche. You can give her a bottle with the top on and she'd be amused for ages. She loves getting them off. haha didnt even realise i got the bottle in the photo! basenjis :)

  • Your girls are beautiful :)

Our Watson often runs in circles getting other dogs at the dog park to chase him…we call it the zoomies here :D

Hope your hospital stay passes quickly and uneventfully.

  • Absolutely delightful pictures. I love the always touching pics. :) Obviously bonded. Seems like the perfect home. My friend's horses used to play with my Rottie.

    Speedy recovery wishes sent.

  • Thank you for your updates and am so glad that the girls have really bonded. I loved the video as my Tifi has just taught herself to high five at the grand age of 8. I love your photos and it's great that your new home sounds so ideal with playmates and a beach!!

I hope your trip to hospital goes well and now you know already just how soon the time will pass.

thank you. yes i couldnt be more pleased with how these two have bonded. Ebby follows her "big sis" around and they are always hanging out. The only time they have a growl is if ones under the covers and the other stands on them haha but apart from that they are usually out running around together or snoozin together.

thanks for all the well wishes. hope it goes fast so im home with my girls agian

  • Cool photos & makes me think about getting a 2nd basenji, but right now Max hads all my attention when on walks. Maybe in a year.
    Thanks

@MacPack: Glad to hear from you, Lysh, hope this year is better than last for you (health-wise anyway, the rest of the year sounds pretty OK). Love the photos, especially the "TP'd yard" and all the pics of the girls together, so sweet that they love each other. ..its been a roughish year but looking forward to the new year :) things have all come back on track, its just the hard yards getting back that level of health :) ..yes the tp'd yard, LOL …the other half was actually sitting in the boat doing his boat stuff and he forgot he left the door to the toilet open, well they took advantage of that error and he didnt actually notice until i got home and asked he what the ?? lol (of course they didnt get in trouble, just a stern talking to, afterall its only toilet paper-- thats the worst they do then im happy lol) although it would have been nice if they done it in the house, could have vacummed/swept it up but it was in the lawn lol did consider mowing but i didnt. @nomrbddgs: Hope you are feeling better. I am in danger of working myself into the ground as well, so I understand where you were-to a point (I'm putting a stop to it before I fall apart). Hope your CF is better and under control! The girls are sweet and love the TP incident. Always do what you love and the rest will come. Don't be a stranger!! .. hope things are better for you. nothing worse then working yourself into the ground. its horrible. CF is getting better, the girls help out with the physical stuff perfectly :D yes it was a classic TP'ing… we live at the end of the court, i could see our front yard littered with white as i drove up our road LOL neighbours might think we're crazy... @curlytails: Nice to get an update, and love all the pictures of you and your beautiful girls! The painted B is pretty neat! thank you! :) yes i love Hope's "tattoo" its so unique and it looks neat. she doesnt mind it at all. its been around a month and a half now. its slowly fading. thinking of getting it redone though :) @Shaye's: Lovely pictures! What did you do the "fancy work" with? My girls are both red and white and would love to decorate them like that with a holly and berries theme for Christmas, but don't know what to use! thank yoiu. We did the fancy artwork at work (i work at a dog grooming salon hehe). the girls went down south (sydney) to do a creative colour course and were taught down there how to do it. its very similar to henna but i forget the name (starts with B?) and so they brought it back and we used Hope to show it off (the girls come to alot of promo's and events with us~ they get totally spoilt with pats and doggy treats) as Townsville is quiet a small country town and we dont get alot of creative artwork/colouring around here (our salon is pretty much the first to do creative colouring up this way, there are other doggy hairdresses that do plain dyes too though). Ill attach some of our recent "artwork" :) all i could find on my pc :) the pink tiger and blue/yellow dog was done up for the RSPCA million paws walk :) we also attended a charity event for CF ~ a 5k walkathon .. group photo :) we were the only entered "dog team" and made our entrance with them all in red bandanas :) and heres a wet poodle :) mr Hugo :) [image: attachment_p_162667_0_agility-team.jpg] [image: attachment_p_162667_1_bridgette-pink.jpg] [image: attachment_p_162667_2_jed-bumblebee.jpg] [image: attachment_p_162667_3_lepoard.jpg] [image: attachment_p_162667_4_nail-art.jpg] [image: attachment_p_162667_5_pink-tiger-and-blue-and-yellow-dog.jpg] [image: attachment_p_162667_6_cf-walk-team-2.jpg] [image: attachment_p_162667_7_cf-walk-team.jpg] [image: attachment_p_162667_8_hugo-the-poodle.jpg]

Oakley is 15 months and I use a martingale collar but no matter howuch training he still seems to "cart pull" as I call it, his head goes down and he digs in to pull, I'm looking into getting a hurtta harness but don't know which is better for pulling- the Y harness or the regular one I see Chaffie wearing

@McCannClan: What an adorable girl! I love those wrinkles and she actually poses for you. I cannot get my new girl to sit still long enough for that… I think Faro is a bad influence on her. Your Athena is beautiful. Hoping you have many fun filled loving days with her. Thank you! It amazes me. She always sits still or stops moving when I'm pointing my camera/phone at her. It's like she knows. Every day since I got her has been fun! @DebraDownSouth: What a cutie! In a couple, it shows the white of one eye and I was going to ask if she has a "lazy eye", but then I looked back at the baby ones… nope, just your camera angle and her looking at you a bit from side. Cara has an absolute lazy eye, btw.. so you know why I was looking! I envy you that cute baby stage. OMG wouldn't it be wonderful if you could keep them like that. Give that wrinkly face a kiss for me. Sigh. Thank you! At times it does look like she has a slight lazy eye but mostly it's the camera angle and the way her head is. Don't worry, I give her many hugs & kisses everyday! this is my favorite picture I've taken thus far. [image: IMG00470-20110329-2131.jpg]

@AJs: I have been placed several times into the position of having something that was illegal simply because while I had acquired an object legally, a law was subsequently passed making that object a crime to own. I believe in 4th Amendment guarantee to security in my property, house, person and effects from unreasonable search and seizure as well as 5th Amendment protection against deprivation of life, liberty and property without due process. If what I own does not injure anyone else and I acquired it legally, I don't believe it is anyone's business what I have. Further, I believe that simply passing a law against something because the majority of people voting on it don't like it does not constitute due process, especially if I previously acquired that item legally. Sheesh! When are people in this country going to learn to mind their own business! Well said, AJs Human! Especially when it comes to simple things like owning animals that are not dangerous, not endangered, do not hurt anyone, do not make noise to irritate the neighbors, etc! If it's a tiger or an elephant, I'd understand… but a pygmy hedgehog or a fish? And if I can drive to another state to legally buy it and I keep it on my own personal property and take good care of it, why should anyone care? Cheers to you!!
