Nope.... not in my opinion....not atypical. especially if these pups come for BYB or Millers.... That said, Giardia is not uncommon nor is a pup with a UTI.... In regards to Giardia, I wonder if these pups shown symptoms when still with the breeder?

Zest! was awake too. Of course from when I first got her as a puppy, I'd hand her off to people she didn't know, many times belly up. So when I handed her to the vet tech, belly up, it was a normal thing for her. Incidently, I have to say, the agility people are the best people I've found to help socialize a young puppy.

Heh, heh, inbread/purebread is a pet peeve of mine as well. That, and SPADE. It's not really my dog, I don't have inbread dogs, I got it from my genetics list (when I saw the title I thought that these people shouldn't be making that mistake).

Go ahead, use it. Can you pull it off the forum or do I have to email it to you?

HAHAHAHA I thought the exact same thing. I was like…WTF! People should not own dogs if they dont know how to spell things. lol SPADE is on my "list" And "inbread" and "purebread" I dont really like when you say "purebreed" either, to me its purebred. but maybe i am wrong on that, thats just how i am. hate it! lol but thats so funny tho! THANKS for sharing! super cute!

Thanks for the advice. I bought a small pack of unscented, alcohol-free Pampers wipes - so far, so good. If the Wet Ones are safe to use, then I'd like to try those - I use those everyday anyway (I'm a germ-a-phob). And as always, Trinity is so compliant - totally helps the process!

Clearly I haven't got stats on Basenjis in Congo, but my colleague has just come back from Basankusu (where the mentioned recently-imported dogs were found, unless I'm mistaken) and she has several photos of at least three separate packs of 6-8 dogs. Who all look much more like Basenjis than Delta ever does 🙂

Having had and lost a fanconis b made me realize lots of things.
One is that knowledge gives you power to watch and maybe delay things.
BUT dwelling on the end, and I did this as well…until someone I loved said, hey, we are all going to die.
None of us know when...if you live dreading the death, then that is NO life.
So, take time to get your head and heart together, reflect on your beliefs and know we share the joy you have each day with your basenji.
If you find, down the road, your basenji is ill, we will share the caring and support with you.
Sorry this is so much into beliefs, but in my mind, this is what these dogs teach us...live and enjoy each day...
