Wanted- girl puppy black & white

  • I am looking to see if anyone has a very young black & white female or if/when you might have a litter that is likely to produce one. My sweet, petite little red & white girl is fighting a losing battle with Urethan cancer right now. So I am just trying to see who might be available to fill the eminent Basenji void in my life. My baby is almost 14 yrs old and has had a very wonderful life. In my opinion… There is no other breed of dog that compares :)
I love the red & white color, but I don't want to possibly be comparing the new puppy to my angel.

  • I am sorry about your dog. Several breeders here so hopefully one will yell. Robyn is in GA, so not far from you.

  • So sorry to hear about your girl.
One of my late girls [Debra, you may remember De La, DC Khani's Howl Raiser of Woz MC BBHR] passed having issues somewhat like yours.
I took her in as I knew she had a UTI when she peed on the dog bed in the car…
ended up after 6 catheters... they put her under anesthesia...
and we found a huge mass/tumor in her bladder and extending halfway into her urethra.
It was a shocker and a hard way to lose my beloved girl.
    I do feel for you...
but you can bring in a new girl and enjoy her just as much... and this time you know what to expect... so you are little more keen on basenji antics!
    Best of luck to you!

  • Have you check out www.basenjirescue.org

They often have dogs to rehome.
Sorry about your girls health. Its hard when they get so sick.

@viknkrish Please email me his name and date of birth and parents so I can include him in the database. My email addresses are in the websites listed on my signature block - and if you can, get the breeder to let me know details of his brothers and sisters ? Thank you

This time of your from a responsible breeder you will be hard pressed to find an available puppy, most all responsible breeders have full reservation list for any pups that they had this past year (2020/2021). Please be sure that you check out health testing if you happen to find a puppy... And I would suggest that you contact breeders in the PNW for possible pups for the Fall/Winter of 2021

Go to www.basenji.org and search by state. Most likely you can find a breeder that might have or be breeding Black/White...

I would look at the BCOA site for reputable breeders in your area, but don't be quick to rule out others. A lot of good breeders have all their puppies spoken for by now, so that will make your search much harder. But keep looking and don't be afraid to contact folks from all over. The most important thing is to find a good breeder that you can work with personally, and one who does significant health testing, including the new DNA marker for fanconi. A happy healthy puppy and supportive relationship with a breeder are priceless! I do know some folks will ship, but the best thing to do is go out and get the dog. You will probably want to meet the breeder and litter, and they will want to meet you. That way you can get a better feel for each other and both still have an "out" if things don't seem right. For about the same price as shipping a dog, you can get a plane ticket yourself to get them. It usually only costs about $50 or so to add the dog in cabin on your return trip. And then you are in complete control the whole time of what is happening to your puppy. Also sometimes breeders that live outside your area still have ways to make transportation arrangements. You can always check. They know other breeders that live between you two and can meet up with them at shows or events to get the puppy closer to it's new home, or within a reasonable driving distance of you. My first dog came from Georgia, but I only had to go to KY to get him. :)
