The ears say Basenji. I have never replied but felt I had to this time. I have a Basenji-Pitbull mix named Daisy. It was Daisy's ears (and behavior) that I discovered her to be part Basenji. I have not found another breed with the ears such as Basenji's have. I'm sure I will get "crap" because I have not had DNA or other testing done but there is no mistaking, Daisy is part Basenji. I think its important to know if your dog is part Basenji because in Daisy's case she is 98% Basenji and 2% pitbull concerning her behaviors and personality. Daisy is 2 years old and it has been quite a learning experience owning such a smart, stubborn, loving, mind of her own, amazing dog! Daisy is a mix but I have to train, teach, go outside to yell out frustrations cause of her (and no I'm not kidding, but never in front of her) and all that goes with a pure Basenji because trying to train her like a normal dog does not work.
Kipawa had a basenji play date today…

With 2, you have all that fun all the time! I'm just saying…......
So glad you got to meet Chewie, I'm sure you will have many good playdates. (If it works out, think about swapping 'babysitting', that can work out really well for a few hours, or days)

Yup…now you see why those of us with multiple basenjis love it!

Sounds like Kipawa and Chewie had lots of fun! And I think you are never going to forget your camera again from now on…..

How much fun…
I once had that happen too at the dog park, when I had Otis..we walked closer and through the fence I could see two red/whites and one tri running by..my heart skipped a beat..what are the odds of meeting one basenji let alone three at the park..zilch, zero nada....but we did...come to find out two of tehm had been my fosters for a very brief time until they made it to their longer term foster..whom in turn ended up adopting both of them..small world.. -
Nice for Kipawa…I'm hoping for a chance encounter like that for Scarlett.

'When' it happens, Scarlett will love it Walter. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the both of you.

I like the saying two are better than one. House is lots of fun and life is great.

Sharon is right, now you know how we get sucked into having more than one. Something about watching them run together that just looks so natural. I had his two sisters and two of my other dogs running the property together in the sun (brief moment of sun) Saturday. It was so great to watch them interact with each other and take turns chasing each other.
Glad he got to meet a friend who was fun for him to play with like that, great experience for him.
Hugs,

ThereseHonestly Therese, I don't know who enjoyed it more, Kipawa and Chewie, or the adults who were watching them!

That's great!! Too bad you didn't get photos, though. Would have loved to have seen them!

It's been a little over 3 months since Mr Baroo came to live with us and Karin and I are grinning most of the time because of the wild play times with Bitty. She had been developing a severe case of couch potato untul he came. Now every time they go out the back door it is at a dead run and Mr. B leads Bitty on multiple circles of their 1/4 acre yard. They are so awesomly beautiful when they run likle that.
