Shaun and Mbali: feeling better!

Show Off Your Dog
  • On grass… lol the research shows... they don't know. They think they eat it because they like it. Then people say "but they threw up so they must have been sick and ate it." Nope, too much grass can make them throw up. In fact one of my Rotties had to have surgery due to impaction from grass. His owners had to keep the yard cut nearly to the ground to stop him after that (and the $2000 bill).

  • Better that they get a check up at the vets as this doesn't seem to clear up. Might they have licked the bird poop as well as the feed? I know that birds can carry disease.

I would haven't have thought suet would cause caused an ongoing problem. Let us know what the vet decides please.

The tunnel used to be a favourite of my Basenjis. One even stopped in the middle and curled round and stayed!! I'd love to see pictures. The old ones are rather special aren't they? My oldie, Jewel, never chews non-dog items either and I often call her 'Angel' but actually she's far from that - unless she's sleeping, like now!

That's a great picture. I'm sure Shaun not only discovered water is wet, but where you live, I'm sure he discovered water is COLD! Nice website you have there.

I Definitely do not think he has learned on thing from his ordeal, he tries to gun it as soon as the door opens, to get into the front yard. Now I have been working on him to sit if the door opens and so far so good..but I don't trust him.. Either way he is feeling much better in his body, his stomach is still upside down, severe diarrhea, has lost 1.6 lbs since monday, not good. I just came back from the vet and they ran several tests, nothing came back suspicious, so we are doing a 30 day cure of probiotics, a wormer to be on the safe side, as well as a 3 day cure of antibiotics. He is not acting as if his stomach is sore when palpatated, which is good, according to the vet..He ate two servings of food when we got back, well I actually just gave him one more, because he was acting as if he was still hungry.. Again, thanks for all his well wishes.. On a different note, the vet was giving him some treats and after giving him a few she continued to talk to me….he wouldn't have any of that..he started talking to her in a really weird growly manner, it was so funny..he has never done that before..needless to say he got more treats after that.
