Update on Hope

Show Off Your Dog
  • Hi all,.

just thought id update some photos of Hope :) she'll be 1 on the 30th of may.. she is a garbage guts and she is a little fat so we've cut back on foods.

the other half has decided what he wants (puppywise) and originally he wanted a whippet but we had been holding off as we werent sure if we wanted something smaller. Well we have found something perfect: italian greyhound. Hope had a run around with a few down the park on sunday and they are right up her alley and the other half loves them of course as they are from the greyhound family.

will keep you all posted :)

(we have found a breeder with a litter that we are happy with ;))

p.s. hope does wear a collar 24/7 which you can see where it is even when shes not wearing it lol

  • So happy to hear that you are all doing well.
    Hope looks darling.
An iggy would be so much fun for her to play and snuggle with….having a four legged friend is awesome fun.

  • I love Iggies, just don't love all the broken leg stories breeder friends have shared.

    Hope is absolutely lovely!

  • I really like Iggies as well – at least the taller ones that I have met! Been seeing quite a few of them at the dog parks lately. My partner has only had a chance to meet one tiny, spindly little girl. She was less than 7 pounds, and when the Iggy's owner told him she typically used a litter box, my partner was so horrified by the idea that he shot my breed proposal down. laugh

Strangely enough though, my Basenji does not like Iggies for some reason. They have pokey noses which they thrust most unceremoniously into her behind, perhaps a little more insistently than other breeds. This may be just the ones we've met, though. =)

    Sweet photos of Hope!

  • She looks lovely!

I really like Italian Greyhounds, but I would be worried that they would get broken around here with 2 boys, a labradoodle, and a basenji.

  • Thank you for the new photos of Hope, she is s beautiful girl.

  • Happy Birthday to you, Hope! Make sure your owners give you some special treats on your birthday, because calories don't count on birthdays! :)

  • Hope is beautiful! Happy birthday to her! Hope she gets lots of b'day treats. Don't be upset if she eats well, a little weight is good for "reserves" in case anything ever goes wrong. My Shaye eats just about enough to keep herself alive and it has always bothered me. She goes for yearlies on 4/4 and I'm going to ask my vet if there's something I can do to tempt her eat more!

  • she went from being a fussy puppy to being a puppy that just wants and loves food. if you have food she will do any trick you ask her with 110% enthusiasam if it means shes gettin food lol but i am glad shes not a fussy girl!

We are waiting to hear back from the breeder to see what pups are reserved and which arent. Very excited.

Hope gets to play with a chinese crested at work and she also plays with another two iggies down at the small breed social i run every fortnight, she seems to know that she has to be careful with the smaller dogs :) shes not much into wrestling with others, more or less just wants to run run run! i will have to upload a video of her and yoshi (the chinese crested) playing at work (the most ive seen her play! as usually its just tag, now chase me!) and will post the link here. So funny and cute.

will post iggie baby photos once a decision's made :)

EDIT: Video link to them playing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDTjuz_tNpM

@MacPack: Glad to hear from you, Lysh, hope this year is better than last for you (health-wise anyway, the rest of the year sounds pretty OK). Love the photos, especially the "TP'd yard" and all the pics of the girls together, so sweet that they love each other. ..its been a roughish year but looking forward to the new year :) things have all come back on track, its just the hard yards getting back that level of health :) ..yes the tp'd yard, LOL …the other half was actually sitting in the boat doing his boat stuff and he forgot he left the door to the toilet open, well they took advantage of that error and he didnt actually notice until i got home and asked he what the ?? lol (of course they didnt get in trouble, just a stern talking to, afterall its only toilet paper-- thats the worst they do then im happy lol) although it would have been nice if they done it in the house, could have vacummed/swept it up but it was in the lawn lol did consider mowing but i didnt. @nomrbddgs: Hope you are feeling better. I am in danger of working myself into the ground as well, so I understand where you were-to a point (I'm putting a stop to it before I fall apart). Hope your CF is better and under control! The girls are sweet and love the TP incident. Always do what you love and the rest will come. Don't be a stranger!! .. hope things are better for you. nothing worse then working yourself into the ground. its horrible. CF is getting better, the girls help out with the physical stuff perfectly :D yes it was a classic TP'ing… we live at the end of the court, i could see our front yard littered with white as i drove up our road LOL neighbours might think we're crazy... @curlytails: Nice to get an update, and love all the pictures of you and your beautiful girls! The painted B is pretty neat! thank you! :) yes i love Hope's "tattoo" its so unique and it looks neat. she doesnt mind it at all. its been around a month and a half now. its slowly fading. thinking of getting it redone though :) @Shaye's: Lovely pictures! What did you do the "fancy work" with? My girls are both red and white and would love to decorate them like that with a holly and berries theme for Christmas, but don't know what to use! thank yoiu. We did the fancy artwork at work (i work at a dog grooming salon hehe). the girls went down south (sydney) to do a creative colour course and were taught down there how to do it. its very similar to henna but i forget the name (starts with B?) and so they brought it back and we used Hope to show it off (the girls come to alot of promo's and events with us~ they get totally spoilt with pats and doggy treats) as Townsville is quiet a small country town and we dont get alot of creative artwork/colouring around here (our salon is pretty much the first to do creative colouring up this way, there are other doggy hairdresses that do plain dyes too though). Ill attach some of our recent "artwork" :) all i could find on my pc :) the pink tiger and blue/yellow dog was done up for the RSPCA million paws walk :) we also attended a charity event for CF ~ a 5k walkathon .. group photo :) we were the only entered "dog team" and made our entrance with them all in red bandanas :) and heres a wet poodle :) mr Hugo :) [image: attachment_p_162667_0_agility-team.jpg] [image: attachment_p_162667_1_bridgette-pink.jpg] [image: attachment_p_162667_2_jed-bumblebee.jpg] [image: attachment_p_162667_3_lepoard.jpg] [image: attachment_p_162667_4_nail-art.jpg] [image: attachment_p_162667_5_pink-tiger-and-blue-and-yellow-dog.jpg] [image: attachment_p_162667_6_cf-walk-team-2.jpg] [image: attachment_p_162667_7_cf-walk-team.jpg] [image: attachment_p_162667_8_hugo-the-poodle.jpg]

Thanks everyone! We couldn't be happier, he is everything we could have asked for! Still training for the therapy route, but we certainly won't force it on him if he isn't enjoying it. He wants a sister…I mean WE want him to have a sister :)... but we're probably going to hold off another couple years before doing so! Especially since we may possibly be moving in the next year or so.

I hope the training is back on course! thanks Gerry, i think we need some pics of Taz ;) Re the training, we will see what happens on saturday, we will have to tread carefully

hehe she is great, we always try to get her to yodel and make noises and she always greets us, when we've been out, with yodels so we are very pleased :D She also lets us know when people are around with a short "bark" @irena: Ha ha, I have to say you are the great yodeler also :D. From our 4 only Buju yodels. hahahaha thanks ;) anything to keep her going! After she has done her yodels and stops we occasionally yodel to her and she just looks at us like "seriously? what are you on! stop that!"
