He looks like a sweetheart…you can tell he's looking at someone he is fond of. Unfortunately I have a boy of my own that loves his mommy a little too much to share. The old ones melt my heart, but he looks like a young nine. Hope he finds a very loving mom who will adore him as much as he will adore her

Patty, I forget… but you are sending these to brat too aren't you? I was sending your posts to Debbi but I THINK you said you were already sending them to brat?
-
I'm confused by this ad. The person says she's keeping the Basenji for a friend, but wants to give it away? I wonder what the friend has to say about this?
-
Debra, no I don't send them to BRAT; I just post them here.
Linda, I thought that her friend was in too much of a hurry to re-home the dog, so she is doing it for her? I think the lady had a different CL ad that said something about her friend moving overseas.

Wouldn't it just be easier to sent to BRAT?

Dang Patti… all the dogs missed now.
PLEASE send them also to BRAT, or Debbi
debbijbasenjirescue@comcast.netThat way they can make sure they check to see if they have them. Makes no sense for me to look for your info, copy and send to her when you can copy and paste here and in email all at once.

The reason I post dogs here is because we have a large, diverse "family" of basenji lovers, to include owners, breeders, rescue groups, etc. While I admire BRAT and the work that they do… Mike Swan is my hero, as is Pam Hamilton! :)... if I get the word out here, there are many eyes on the postings.
If you've lost a dog, perhaps you'll see yours...
If you are a breeder and see that there's a lost and found... i.e. "Moxie" in Ocala was microchipped, but the contact number is no longer good. If you had a litter of pups 5 years ago, and there was a little girl named "Moxie", perhaps you can rescue her.
If you are a breeder and you sold a dog... and then you see that someone is giving it away on Craig's List... well, then you have an opportunity to get your basenji back, and to re-home it yourself.
If you are just a basenji owner like me, but you are looking for another bundle of mischief for your home... then perhaps you'll be able to contact the shelter or person that's re-homing the dog?
There are lots of BRAT volunteers on here! I'm sure the word gets back to them.

I don't see what the harm is in having these listings posted in multiple places. As Patty said, the more eyes that see them, the better chance of getting the dog into a good home (or back to a good home). But it does seem like it would be efficient to post the listing simutaneously here and to a BRAT rep…...

OH NO! Patty did you think I meant don't post HERE? Remember I most certainly championed it is a great thing. I just was asking you to ALSO send to Brat.
