Has anyone. . .

Basenji Talk
  • Certainly, if you have been thinking a lot of having a basenji, I find it perfectly normal that this would carry over in a dream. Welcome to the world of loving basenjis. :)

  • I think I can?t count it on one hand anymore :)

(I'm just viewing a live birth of a litter of Stabyhounds at the webcam, I know for sure I will dream about it tonight. even when I am not getting one of my own ;) )

  • Are you also watching that birth? Me too! Hah!

  • Have been watching since this afternoon  Not a good thing to do when you should study..

  • After we found Blaze's food stash behind the old TV, I had a dream that Cricket was already here and the ghost of Blaze was teaching her how to stuff the food under the TV so that we wouldn't find it, but it was still retrievable to her. I literally dreamt that a red and white puppy was using her little paw to shove a girl guides cookie box under the TV while this transparent Tri was encouraging her…
If you are weird, we ALL are!!

  • I do the same ;)

But my dream was that I had a really big Basenji.. Like 2 meters high and big as hell haha :D
And then I couldn't get him inside cuz he didn't get through the door! :D :D :D

  • @Whoalookitsme:

    His story

This is Frodo. He is a male Basenji. He has been coming to our kennel for about a year now. This Christmas his owner dropped him off for the holiday. While visiting family in Nevada, regrettably, his owner passed away. Frodo is now left in the hands of us with assistance by relatives. However, the family is unable to keep him. They would like to find a new, loving partner for Frodo. There are no fees in adopting him. He is recently neutered. Frodo is an energetic boy and is only a year old. He is currently up to date on all his vaccines. This little guy is a silly character. Loves to play and never slows down. We take great care of him here at Creekside and would love to meet with anyone who is interested in adopting this adorable pup. If you are interested please contact us here at Creekside Pet Boarding; 805-481-7711

I buy 12 inch 'sticks, thick ones, and then toss the last 2 inches to prevent the 3 am barf. My guys are older and the sticks last for several days. They would be too expensive if they ate them in an hour!

Over here people aren't even guessing what breed Voodoo might be. The only thing they ask me is if he is a good hunter, what country he came from and what you can hunt with them. That's all they are intrested in, not one has asked what breed he actually is.

I was reading up a bit on fanconi and found this website that states as part of the protocol: (http://www.basenji.org/ClubDocs/fanconiprotocol2003.pdf) 2. Any good quality dry food may be fed, with the addition of at least one can per week of HIGH PROTIEN ?wet meat? mammal meat based dog food (Beef, Lamb?etc.) to replace long-chain amino acids and phosphorus. Poultry based foods have proven far less effective in management of this disorder then mammal based meats. The only exception to this high protien diet, in this protien-losing uropathy, is documented renal failure (increasing BUN/CREATININE). In this type situation, see the ?RENAL FAILURE HYBRID PROTOCOL? section later in this instruction set My dog doesn't have this but I feed Wellness Core and she loves it. I also feed senior wellness to my older chow who's a picky eater and just add a bit of wet sometimes and he gobbles it up :)

I have seen the people who have dogs in the large crates weighed at check in. Only because it was a large carrier. Honestly I would carry her because it gives the appearance that they are lighter then they appear.
