Original Black & Whites

    Since I have a black & white puppy, I was curious how many native black & whites are back in the pedigrees. I've found four so far. Are there more? I know there aren't that many foundation dogs so this number seems reasonable (to me at least!). Here are the ones I found:

    Miliku
    Wheeler's Poor No Friend
    Smokey
    Bwayku

    The dogs that are pretty much the foundation black and whites of the breed are Kiki of Cryon who gets her black and white from Wheeler's Poor No Friend and Miliku. I believe the majority of the black and whites today get their black from Kiki.

    Thanks! I see what you mean, I was mixing up my terminology…native versus foundation dog...and I meant foundation. Zoni gets her black from Miliku on the Jerlin side.

    Wili-which is Bluestones Ubora Wili Duara. His mother was bred to a brindle, I believe. Johnny's mother (Dalji's Damisi Dhati A Duara was bred to Bluestones Wild Buckwheat (which is the brother of Wili's mother).

    Right now because Taste of The Wild High Prairie (Bison) is on the recall list, Kipawa is eating Acana kibble, NRG dehydrated food, blueberries, melons, broccoli ad other tasty, healthy things. The oil we use is Udo's 3-6-9, and I am very happy with his coat. Bless you for helping out one of these wonderful creatures.

    Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and good "vibes." AJ is doing grat now. Stools are normal and his activity level is back. You're right…he is a special boy. He did drink lots of water after this little episode, but that's tapering off too. Thanks again, y'all. :)

    White spots on tongue is not a disease but merely a symptom that is seen in many oral conditions, some benign and harmless and some serious. Although on most occasions, these white spots on tongue are asymptomatic in nature, there are times when they may be accompanied by pain and burning sensation in the mouth, especially on the intake of spicy food. Given below are the causes and treatment of white spots on tongue.The treatment of white spots on tongue will depend on the factor causing it. In case of pre-cancerous lesions, it is of utmost importance that the person stops the intake of tobacco completely. He must get the condition properly diagnosed though, to begin with, after which the doctor will mostly prescribe vitamin A supplements and ointments to apply on the lesion.

    Our Max has a black diamond in the center of his tail and is Tri factor…....his half sister Penny(same daddy)........has no black at all on her tail and is not Tri factor.

    His vet appointment is in three weeks and I'm taking the AVA information on Fanconi syndrome with me. We've been very lucky with Rocky. He was a rescue and has become the best family dog. I know the breed is not known for being good with kids but he is so incredibly patient with my two children (3 and 6 months). He even helped teach my eldest to walk by leting her hold onto his shoulders while she toddled along. I'll keep you guys posted and let you know what's up. We've had him tested for kidney, liver, and renal failure in the past as well as chronic UTI and blood-bourne illness. Nothing… "perfectly healthy dog". We'll keep looking until we figure out what's wrong. Thanks for all the info!
