Got my new furniture…

Off Topic
  • … and put both the end table and coffee table together by myself! For me, this is a true accomplishment, as I can't read directions if my life depended on it, and then the accompanying diagrams always look like directions to a buried treasure that you'll never find in a million years.

The leather chairs and the couch are fairing well with the cats. Only are female cat has jumped up on it and found it comfortable enough to nap on it. She sneezes a bit, and this morning I found sneeze mucus marks on the couch. Just a damp rag and a little wipe, and gone!

All of our cats had their toenails trimmed just before the furniture delivery, and I will do their nails now once every week instead of once every two weeks. All I need now is a basenji to curl up on the couch with. That will come in time, when the time is right.

My sister and brother in law are coming over later this afternoon to help install the stereo and tv into the new entertainment unit. I know my limits, and hooking up electronics is no where in my job description, so best left to an expert.

I swear I am going to be in bed tonight by 8 p.m. All that laying on the floor, screwing things in, lifting things too heavy for me to lift, etc., have done me in. Well maybe it will be good because we are planning a family pizza night. I can count the furniture assembly as extra activity.

  • Best thing to do is put a throw on the seat cushions… that is what I do... takes care of Basenji "nesting" and/or cat sneezes...gggg

I second Pat's suggestion. Takes care of throwing up too. Buddy digs on the couch like there's a steak under it :D

  • LMAO. Why do animals want to dig all the darn time? Our cats dig at everything..and I don't mean sharpening their nails, I mean digging like they will get through to the other end :)

  • We have leather furniture and it's so practical to be able to wipe it down when you have animals.
Congrats putting the furniture together and enjot that Pizza ;)

Yay, thanks for sharing. I don't see much Basenji action on it yet, but I'll keep a watch on it. Also very interesting to get a UK perspective, too.

@MacPack: I recommend rubber-backed area rugs, or you will find them all in a pile against the wall as they skid along….. Anne And watch them closely. After 3 yrs w/Jazzy and 11 mos w/Keoki, they suddenly decided to eat an area rug. Okay, not exactly "eat" it, but they certainly ruined it in a big way. Why? Why? after all that time?  Because they are Basenjis.:p

Hey my Basenji boy Gibby is startled everytime he sees a mirror. I really think sometimes he has no idea what he looks like as he sees more humans than other dogs! Lord knows somedays I am sure I will look over and see him walking across the room on the 2 hind legs as he so curious about things above him…I do know that is one handsome Grandson and CONGRATS!
