    I remember with my last puppies when I saw a tooth on the rug. I panicked as it was huge I assumed it was an adult canine tooth. So Douglas & I went frantically round all the adult dogs checking their mouths but nothing. Then I thought to check the puppies and right enough it came from Chance - he now has really long adult canines!! They do like to keep us on our toes and frighten us from time to time.

    We keep Benji's teeth in an old camera film spool case. :D

    We have a collection of Milo's baby teeth too! Not sure how many more to come out. His gums were quite sore a couple of weeks ago and he was really unsettled at ringcraft that week. Seems better now though. He's 5 months old now too so that seems about right. It's a shame they can't tell us if their mouth hurts.

    I have never seen my Basenjis baby teeth once they've changed them. They've probably swallowed them at the time (or else been eaten by the respective mums!!!!!!)
    I'm looking forward to seeing this year's crop of puppies in the show ring. It's nice to know that we have several this year. I wish everybody success.

    I'm glad I happened on this thread as well. I found one puppy tooth from Shaye on the floor, but as of tomorrow she's 5 months, and I've never found another - I guess she swallows them….we have noticed her teeth are looking far more dangerous these days.

    Maya's front teeth are all through but at ringcraft last night i gave her a little bit of chicken which she was chewing very strangely and i noticed her mouth was bleeding a bit so had a look and one of those big teeth at the back (no idea what they're called :o ) was hanging out :rolleyes: So i gave her a little bone/chew thing and it came out easily enough but now im wondering how many more we have to come :confused: I know with my pug pups their adult teeth are usually through by now!

    In our experience the teeth should all be out between 6 and 8 months.

    Bendji becomes 6 months tomorrow. He lost his last canine a week ago and I managed to collect it ! So now I have 3 puppy teeth in my collection, 2 molars and one canine !:)
    IMO it won't be long until Maya will have her permanent teeth:rolleyes:

    Ripley is just a little over 5 months and I think he only has one baby tooth left. I just found one on my bed yesterday! :)

    Just to let you all know, Maya lost her last baby tooth about a week or so ago so has a beautiful set of big teeth now :D

    @3basenjimom Agree, a vet visit. I have never seen a post on grinding teeth before so it’s very unusual.

    Yeah you told me about that before and I'm clueless, but I'll try it if I need to, lol. could be the noise of occasional thump, could be they can hear it even tho we can't. My chow would be drooling buckets before we got a mile away. I just had to keep towels down and take off and bag along the trip. But I took her for a 7 hr trip to atlanta and she threw up and threw up, then stopped. Never threw up again. :( on your back. I had been getting radiofrequency ablations in the US, and they really helped. But doctors here will only do them once or twice. I have had at least 6 on one side, 3 on the other. :( But it's miraculous pain relief when it is done right. Maybe your dog acupuncturists knows of a human one they'd recommend?

    Well they actually suggest routine checks at least yearly, cleaning if needed. When I fed raw, my dogs, never a one, ever needed their teeth cleaned. And the vet felt Cara's were fine last year, but who knows in Feb.. she may need them cleaned (she'll be 3). If you make brushing a routine, you may not have to have it done. But because of Arwen's autoimmune disorder, hers have to be cleaned every 3 mos as she reacts to plaque even tho there is almost no tartar on them at cleaning time. :( So I had to go look at the stats and info. The only ones I find are like this, examine teeth, clean if necessary.     @Patty: Personally I would take her to the vet to get her checked out for bowel or urinary infections. If she is losing sight and hearing she may be frightened. It sounds as though you need to step back a pace to calm your reactions. I can appreciate that you are getting fed up with all the work but she is an old dog. My present oldie (15) has taken to peeing (and pooing) indoors at times but I know I need to put her outside more often as she doesn't have the control she once had. She has also become blind and is certainly more aggressive with the others because of that. Any way first things first and do take her to the vet, please. Let us know how you get on. I have to agree with everything Patty wrote. Changing behavior ALWAYS needs a vet check. Increase aggresssion can be due to thyroid issues, pain, tick-born diseases, constant hunger (due to other things), etc. You didn't say in your post if you'd recently seen a vet and discussed her new issues. My oldest (16 in December) has failing kidneys (nonFanconi) and does need to pee more often. So, I put pee pads down in the house in his favorite pee spots. He's usually pretty good about that, but he does still pee in other spots if I'm not watching him carefully or if he gets a bit aggitated about the sitting arrangements. Would your pup stay in an exercise pen? That would give her a little more room than a crate.
