  • Some good thoughts for your roommate's pup..

    @LiveWWSD:

Anyway glad to be back hope you all are having a less crazy January.

    Welcome back :D

You're not the only one with a '****y' January.. I already fell with my bike because the roads were frozen… my new jeans (toooooo expensive ) and bike didn't make it..
The day after my laptop crashed.. (good thing we have two..)

Sooo.. I'm hoping on a great Februari.. or 2010..

Edit.. Sorry for the *** :D

  • Daniel, you have done so much for the PNW rescue dogs and now to have this happen.
    Sigh.
Sorry that sometimes bad things happen to good people.
How is the roommates dogs and how did he react when he heard?
    Hugs all around to you!

  • That's awful! I am so glad that things weren't worse. you will certainly have your hands full! You are all (dogs and people) in my thoughts!!

    Pat

  • Pat, this was an awful winter up here in the PNW.
I know the main part of the country got hit hard as well.
Lets hope we all get our weather back to where it should be and our b's back into
    their normal routine.
Daniel, when will know know how well the little dogs foot will heal?

  • Here's good thoughts going your way for successful healing.

  • I hope the little guys leg heals quickly and thankfully he wasn't hurt even more. Sending good thoughts and hopefully Zaire quits trying to break him out.

  • Hey thanks everyone..

The roomate did well with the news…Ha told me that he couldn't htink of anyone else he would have wanted with his dog when this happened (That made me feel good).

The little guy is doing fine now... still in bandages, but I took him to My kids Doc on Friday and he rebandaged the leg and said he was very happy with the way it was healing. Of course now that he is starting to feel better it is harder to keep him and my kids apart. I woke up today and couldn't find Zaire... I went into the doggie room and she was curled up on the couch with Sebastian (I know she has missed being able to play with him) It was so cute.

  • Well we are finally done with the insanity of keeping a min-pin calm and collected while healing. Had his last set of staples taken out last week (He had one round of stitches ands two rounds of staples, in order to close the wound yet still let it drain).

I am happy to be done with that little project, and am now on to building a 2nd fence to keep the dogs away from the fence that boarders my neighbors. Unfortunately this is due to the neighbors less than warm reaction to my asking if they might consider putting up a fence to keep their dog away from our fence. They seem to think that the min-pin must have provoked their dog as "She is always so sweet with us".

I didn't bother to remind them that their beloved pup has also bitten 2 other folks dogs in our area. I reported them to animal services as I decided it needed to be on record, but didn't feel great about it.

On better news, after 3 months of fighting with my old computer, I finally purchased a new one. So now I am officially back online… YAY!!!!

Hello to all of you who I have missed so much... I am looking forward to catching up with all of you and your furbabbies.

  • You are right by reporting these folks to animal control..
I hope it all goes better for you both now.

  • Me too….. and at least you can take the pro-active way.. and protect your "kids".... Kudos

My King Charles Spaniel was 16 when he died and I still think he left way too soon. He was really good dog. Thanks for posting that.

We were in Ohio when I wrote it. Ohio was admitted to the Union on March 1, 1803, but Congress apparently forgot to vote on the resolution. It was finally rectified on August 7, 1953, which technically makes Ohio the 47th state. However, it is counted as the 17th because it wasn't Ohioans who created the problem. Who says our Federal government isn't efficient? Zanesville, OH is the location of the Y Bridge, which starts and ends on the same side of the river. But that's where we were. The wolverine is the official state animal and nickname of the state. Fur trappers from Canada brought pelts across the state and folks further south assumed (there's that word again) the pelts were trapped in Michigan. The Detroit Red Wings assembled the Russian Five, who propelled the Hockey team to the Stanley Cup in 1997. Within a few days of the win, one of the team members was permanently benched in an auto accident, but the remaining four were instrumental in the 1998 and 2002 Stanley Cup wins for the Red Wings. We will be in Grand Rapids, MI tomorrow morning. Ms. Basenjimamma: The temperature here right now is 51F. :)

@Maya: If you're living in Holland, you need a Friesian!!! :D I have the most wonderful friesian, her temperment is amazing. She's not even 3 yet but she is just so sweet and gentle!! But, do keep us updated. I've had horses since i was 3 and they are a huge part of my life. I couldnt be without them even though im not as involved in the horse world as i once was!! P.S. I have some photos from a show over here in the UK with shires in their traditional plaits and tack if anyone is interested in seeing them. Its just amazing!! Yes!! I love to see the pictures!!! I like the Friesian horses but it's not a breed wich can used for lots of things, they are to special i think :D I like the Friesian for shows and as a barouche horse (is it a good word?) I once ride a Friesian and it's different with riding a normal or western horse. They make larger steps and it's very comfortable riding! A friend of us breeds the Friesian :D @moetmum: That sounds exciting, hope it all goes to plan. Our neighbouring farmer used to breed shire horses, they don't breed now but still have loads of horses. They go to loads of shows, they were sponsored by a local brewery. The horses are fascinated by the basenjis, and always want to come and have a look! the b's aren't keen when they snort at them though. I have never heard of a horse milking farm before!! Wow!!! If it was a little bit near Holland, I really would come over to met you and take a look at the shires next door :D:D We're don't going to live in Holland :D In Germany they have also some very nice breeds Hannoveraan, holsteiner (i don't know the english names…0
