  • Umm…I need a map. A key...a legend? I get 1,2,3,4 but that's about it.
    :o
    Help.

I love that there's a "No Ka Oi" kennel. Makes mauigirl here feel right at home...

Edit: why are there sometimes two of the same # in one class? And the letters? sigh

  • Letters are for Winners (W) Reserve Winners (R) Awards of Merit (AM) Best of Breed (BOB), Best of Winners (BOW), Best of Opposite Sex to the Best of Breed (BOS) Absent (A)

In that class that 2 of the same placements are showing, I think that Onofrio goofed and mixed up the Bred By Exhibitor Sweeps Class showing both Dogs and Bitches. I know that the first #1 is a Dog and the other #1 is a Bitch. Also the #1 that has BSS means she was Best in Sweep Stakes

  • The numbers is () are the armband numbers

  • The one from Puppy dog 9-12 Any Other Allowed color (so all the colors except Red/White) with the OSS means he was Best of Opposite Sex in Sweep Stakes

  • Thanks! Makes total sense. The A's totally threw me.

  • Andrea,

Just wanted to say congrats to you for getting a beautifull little Tri girl out of your last years breeding. Katie was so happy with how Rayne performed down at nationals. :)

Thanks :) But Katie deserves all the credit for this litter. I just got the bitch where she needed to be, and raised the puppies ;) of course…that IS a lot of work..especially over Christmas, while pregnant with twins!!

I knew the tri girl (we called her Trike) was going to be a star :) she definitely had the prettiest conformation in the litter. She is in the happiest home a basenji could imagine...her humans dote on her, and her older 'brother'...being a nice show dog is icing on the cake :)

Hopefully her brother that we kept here will be able to get his act together in the show ring too ;) He is a complete goofball. I will post some pics of him soon!

I know Katie is thrilled with how well Rayne is doing...and she had a pretty nice National as well!!! I haven't had a chance to talk to her yet, but she did leave me a voice mail yesterday :)

  • Yea she has been in seventh heaven since nationals. She keeps asking me to pinch her to make sure she isnt dreaming. :D
A very good showing. I got to meet Rayne at the WVBC specialty. She is SUCH a cutie.

Thanks for posting these Pat. One question…so on this one, does the code mean 1 reserve bred by?
1/R BBY ELDORADO N AKUABA NEVER SAY NEVER. HP294953/01. 01/26/2008.

  • That means 1st in the class, reserve to Winners and the BBY means Best Bred By, as in bred by exhibitor, or the one who bred is the one who is showing/handling.

Cool :D! Thanks Pat…someday I'll understand it all...in the meantime, thanks for answering all the questions!

    Glad to help

  • I've got one too, as I'm clueless about this. What does the "Field Trial" category mean?

  • @Nemo:

I've got one too, as I'm clueless about this. What does the "Field Trial" category mean?

Field Trial is for dogs/bitches that have received their Field Championship in Lure coursing, usually… sometimes it will include Senior Courser titles.. and many times will be a Dual Champion (DC in the front of the dogs name) that stands for Conformation and Field Champion

Thanks! :) My first guess was that it had something to do with lure but wasn't sure.

@wizard: I'm sorry but that Pekinese, even though it has won before, is still just a waddling caterpiller to me. My picks would have been the Dalmation, Doberman, or GS. With a Pekinese you aren't sure what is underneath that coat. He may have wonderful bone structure. With the smooth coated breeds you see what you get, no chance of hiding anything with hair there.

All 3 of my pups did well. Trog earned a GRC point in LGRA, Gambit was 2nd in the 9-12 AOAC class in both Sweeps and show, and Tempest was 3rd in 9-12 Red and White in both Sweeps and show.
