Ugh, here we go again…..

  • ANOTHER bomb threat at EWU, where my daughter goes to school and works as campus police.

and YES, she is working on site again

This is getting real old, real quick.

    She shouldn't be doing this….she's just a little girl!!!!

I'm SURE it's nothing, but then again, how can I be sure?

Nope, not liking this. Not one little bit.:(

  • Sorry to hear that! Hang in there JazzysMom.

It's not easy to be a parent of a child who has a dangerous job but she is doing something she loves, you have to bit your lip and stand by her decision to be in law enforcement and just know in your heart that she will be okay.

  • I am sorry to hear you are being put through this, I can't stand it when these things happen, and so many people are inconvienced because of someomes stupidity. Then it happens once, and seems to happen over and over like a trend has been started. I am a teacher in a fairly large district, and last year we had a bomb threat at one of our schools. Well, sure enough, soon after MANY of the schools, both middle and high, started seeing bomb threats. Our school ended up having like 3-4 of them in just a month or two. Kids see one person do it and think its cool to do the copycat crime. Such a pain! I definitely hope your daughter is ok, and hopefully the bomb threats will stop!

I can understand.. but your daughter made her choice to be "part" of the solution… and it is obvious you are supporting her... good for you... may she stay safe!!!!!!

  • I understand where both of you are coming from. I work at the border doing customs coordination. We get bomb threats, terrorist threats, drug shakedowns, everything. And we aren't even customs! But it does come with the job. The threats are part of people's stupidity, beliefs, ignorance, etc. But we have to live with the results.

All is well; no bomb. :D

Yes, she is choosing to be a part of the solution – but sometimes I wonder WHAT WAS I THINKING when I encouraged her to serve the community and help others.

I am quite proud of the choices she making and her reasons for making them.
but... I just can't love it, kwim?

You were thinking how can I be a good Mom and be supportive of my daughter, good for you for doing that. I know it is tough but know that she is doing what she loves and is helping others, if this is what she was meant to do then someone else's life is better because she is doing it and you are a great Mom for being supportive of her.

Now, you can tell us how freaked you are though, we won't tell … :)

@nkjvcjs: OMG. Oh no! Where does she live? Is there anything we can do? -Nicole I asked Sue if she could forward me where the owner lives and when the puppy was last seen. If I get the info, I'll post it. I believe she's somewhere in NE IL but I'm not sure. The owner has seen her a few times but hasn't been able to recover her. But I think that was before it started to get really cold and snowy. :(

Here in the states there are disclaimers on everything… I once saw a disclaimer on a ladder..."not to place it in dogpoop before stepping on it"..I mean come on..is that really needed? But I guess it is..

I've been trying to do that…it's not as easy to reach the distinctive landmarks with a semi as with other vehicles, including RV's. All the really cool places have signs up that say "No Trucks" and it really bums me out. I understand, though, because there are so many truck drivers who just throw their trash where ever they want instead of find a garbage can. And they pee on the ground rather than expend the extra energy to walk 75 feet into the bathroom. Trucker areas reek to an eye-watering level in hot areas because of this. But I do try to find distinctive landmarks when I can...the little lake in Minnesota, the rock formation in Colorado, coastal trees in North Carolina.... I will try to find more landmarks I can access.

For anyone unaware of this bill please check the AKC website for information, http://www.akc.org/canine_legislation/CA_action_center.cfm It is very important that California residents write their assembly member expressing their opposition to this bill. This bill will hurt responsible breeders who do more work than I think most people know. Many are active in educational outreach about responsible pet ownership and support and are active in rescue. This bill would severely damage the infrastructure of responsible pet ownership.
