Tillo looks as if he had a blast
Mirtillo in the sand dunes
-
I took Mirtillo to the sand dunes today. He loved it, so I think we have to go back tomorrow..
This was the first time we let him run off leach (accept for puppy training), because cars were nowhere to be found! He played with all kind of dogs and had the time of his life. Back in the car he slept within 2 seconds.
I have 'some' pics of him still on leach:
-
I love the one where he's throwing up sand. Such a good shot! He looks like he enjoyed himself

Yes he did. And he was so tired.. (he is still asleep) On our way back home I wondered if he was still alive  I checked him every 5 minutes
It's a pity I didn't take any pictures when he was off leach running with all the other dogs.. They would have been great for the B-500 threat

Tired Puppy. I had a dog that LOVED the sand, he loved how it felt between his toes

A Tired Basenji is a HAPPY BASENJI!!! Great photos. Thanks for sharing them!!

What awesome pictures! Geez, your B sure gets to go to some very fun places (zoo, sand dunes, etc). I'm jealous! :p
-
OMG soo cute. I should take Charlie and Zaire to the dunes here in Oregon, I bet they would love it. Might be a good summer camping trip.
-
Neat pictures! I love the one with the sand flying too!!

I have a lot of free time and I'm used to spending it with a dog, so I know all the nice places. Until September Mirtillo and I will spend most of our time together. Then my new studie begins.. And bf has to jump in

Hey Janneke !
Where did you shoot these pictures because the scenery is superb !
The Belgian coastside isn't an option for us because it's to crowded so we'd like to explore the virgin nature reserves of your country. Give me a sign, maybe Tillo and Bendji become great friends Only 3 nerve-racking months ...:D -
Heyhey,
Spannend hoor..
Sorry.. no translation tonight

Yes, yes, yes we stay in contact with Alain all the time. He had some very good results with Keep (Eldorado's Keeper of the Flame) in Mechelen(B) a couple of weeks ago. We already met the sire (Wanyika Fauzi) and the dam (Abotere's Badiri) and they both are gorgeous… I also looked up for their pedigree and it goes way down to 1937 !! As the gene pool of the Basenji's is very narrow I guess Tillo and Bendji maybe are relatives ! Great isn't it. I'll keep you informed ok.

Wanyika Fauzi will have another litter in the Netherlands this year (http://www.toka-kilima.nl/) so Bendji will have some half siblings as well
Tillo and Bendji will indeed be (far) relatives. Wazazi Grand Crusador is in both their pedigrees, as well as Faraoland Nile Wild Bambuti.
Please keep me informed!

Hey Janneke !
I just received an email from Alain: due to circumstances they are not going to breed this year with Wanyika Fauzi but with Ch. Abotere's Malik. I don't know the exact reason but I think it is an excellent choice they made. He also informed me that the dam, Ch. Abotere's Badiri came into heat yesterday, much earlier than expected so now we are sitting on the edge of our chairs …:D
Wow, is this stressing !
As promised, I'll keep you informed;) -
Always fun to see how international our basenji village is - really a small world, isn't it?:)
