Wait by the bathroom door?

Show Off Your Dog
  • Every morning I have two or three of them outside the bathroom door waiting on my wet towel from the morning shower…....like clockwork:D .....wacky dogs anyway.

  • Tucker sits by the door if it's closed. If I leave it open he comes in an sits on the bath mat. If I'm in the shower, he peeks around the curtain to make sure I didn't drown and licks the water off the tub ledge. This might be TMI, but if I'm taking care of business and the door is cracked, he'll nudge it open and come in and sit between my legs. He's a weirdo. :)

  • @TuckerVA:

    He's a weirdo. :)

It seems they all have a touch of weirdness in them when it comes to bathrooms.:D

It seems to be a common trait…...what other dogs are, um, ah, "special" like this????

It's why we love them so.;)

  • Thanks Tucker's dad for the vivid imagery  :D :D

  • Admittedly, when I'm taking care of my business on the toilet, I like to stroke my dog. :D

I hope my sick sense of humor doesn't get me kicked outta here. ;) We're all adults, right???

Actually I am quite offended!

HAHAHAHA. Just kidding! I was laughing so loud when I read that!!! :D

  • Bodhi leans aginst the bathroom door until i come out . lets out a little whine or grumble until the door opens

Don't feel bad… :D I am sure there are others just afraid to admit they do the same... me being one....;)

  • We have 'open door policy' in our house, by popular demand. If closed, the scratching and banging on the door doesn't stop, so might as well just leave them all open. Mine don't demand that the bathroom door be opened for visitors, just for us. They don't like for our pack to be separated!

  • Wait I'm confused, is there something called using the bathroom in peace and without four legged guests? LMAO

We have to open door policy also, we have to remind guest to close the door al the way or one of the 3 (if not all) will invite themselves in. They don't beat the door down if there is someone in the house, but I usually have to tell them all I'm getting in the shower so they can follow (yup, cat included)

LOL!! My mind, as usual, is in the gutter! But it's so much fun splashin' around down here! (My apologies to anyone who isn't like-minded.)

  • Ours will also sit outside the door sometimes. We have been known to stick the edge of a magazine under there and move it back and forth a little - hilarity ensues!

  • Jack does that TOO!!! But then again, He follows us EVERYWHERE we go in the house…even the bathroom (and if we close the door he lays up against it until we some out!) EXCEPT when the bath water is on!!!!!!! HAHAA

  • Topaz likes to hang out on the bath rug while we're in there..can't close the door otherwise we get scratches

  • I'll be good…I promise...PLEASE

I am not in your area, but ... you should know that dog training is about teaching you how to interact with your dog, as opposed to teaching your dog how to do things. Most area Kennel Clubs offer training where you are your dogs partner in the class. The things you will learn will last your lifetime. I applaud the non-punitive approach. A lot of people fly off the handle when their dog chews on the wrong thing, or doesn't quite have potty training down. One of the best things you can do is give them love when they do it right and don't react when they don't. Recognize that he's just a pup. You can trade an acceptable chew toy for your shoes, and you can avoid the problem by closing the closet door so your pup can't get to your shoes. Accidents will happen and learning to potty doesn't happen overnight. Just provide a lot of verbal love when the pup gets it right and don't react when he doesn't. Love and praise are the best tools in your training bag. Congrats on your pup. Can't wait to hear about all of your adventures!
