    Do you guys know that Amy Winehouse song?? Something like–they want me to go to rehab, and I say NO NO NO.....well--here's another version--you want me to take your pitt bull?? I say NO NO NO. :) I can only speak for myself--I would never be able to take in anyone's unneutered pitt bull--or probably any pitt bull. And have met some sweet pitt bulls--but I would just be too afraid--especially if he remains unneutered--and especially with a small young B--and in an apartment--the quarters are too close for everyone--but this is just my opinion.

    I think that you are making a responsible decision… and while it is hard to say No... it is IMO the right thing to do...

    Yea I think I'm making the best decision for my family's sake. I would love to give Dallas a canine friend to play with but…it's just too risky since I don't know the dog well enough to know what will happen.

    ok folks - here is another possibility - get on this wonderful thing called the internet - there are a lot of groups offereing to help in many ways service people serving overseas - some of them are willing to foster dogs.

    Take a few min and look up programs in Florida and see what you can find out. You might be suprised at what help is there.

    Yes I'm in Florida & he is stationed in California. He looked into a few programs after I mentioned them to him but upon checking he was told that they would not take pittbulls. At least the one he checked although I'm hoping we can find one that will take pitts. CA is kind of anti-pittbull though…unfortunate for him :(

    I think that Jazzysmom said it best, will most likely be no chance unless he is neutered…. and I fully agree.... I don't really think that CA is anti-pit... some cities/counties, but no more then other places...

    Thanks for all the info everyone! I've talked to him about some of his options & I have forwarded all of the websites. Hopefully someone can take Razr & he won't have to give him up. Although it does look like he may have to neuter whether he likes it or not…

    I know what a tough decision that was for you to make, do not ever doubt yourself you are doing the right thing.

    I know it was hard to tell your brother-in-law no, but you are helping him find other options which he needs to look into and hopefully one of those will work out.

    Ninabeana – I'm echoing ChaseandZahra and others here but TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS on this because the p.b. certainly will pick up on them. Have your brother contact the pitbull rescue societies as well as the military support groups. It's tough I know.

    Oh My! So sorry! I know if it were Pearl I would be terrified! Poor Baby! I want to cry fo him. If you love him half as much as I love Peal, I'm sure you are devistated. (And I am sure you love him a much as I love Pearl) I pray Shango is fine and has no permanent injuries. Hugs him for me.

    I wish. Gypsy is getting old and having more problems – sometimes loses her balance, etc. -- and in response Jazzy is getting meaner to her. When the dogs are outside, Jazzy will wait on the porch for Gypsy. When Gypsy approaches the porch to come in, Jazz will run out growling and starting biting at her face. I've been able to curb it a little by letting Gypsy in, and then shutting the door and making Jazzy wait and sit before letting her in. Little things like that... Although other times she will curl up with Gypsy and sleepthere's never any kindness shown; Jazzy bosses her around more than ever, often even chasing Gypsy off of her bed so that Jazzy can lie down on it {I always make Jazzy get back off and let Gypsy back on}, even though Jazzy has a chair and her own bed. It makes me sad. Keoki on the other hand, seems quite oblivious and treats Gypsy the same as always. While those two never snuggle up, they are play-time buddies. Gypsy livens up a good bit when Keoki invites her to play.

    @ELERICKSON40: Yes I agree. She is quite the mighty hunter and her nose is to the ground always!! Alot of times when she is digging in the couches and chairs she is trying to bury a bone. She will stuff a bone into the corner and actually take her nose and push imaginary dirt?? over the bone. It makes us laugh!! Yea, my B does the same, the first time I saw this I was so intriged, they are so smart. It is a funny thing to watch, Sahara will take a bone around the house in her mouth for the perfect place to bury it. If she can't find a place she is happy with she will prance around whinning the sadest noise like she is so sad. I actually pitch in and help her find a place, and she will most of the time agree on the place, she checks it out and then walks off. These dogs spoil you for any other breed, they are the best.

    Well, Tosca is just fine I think:) I was kinda worried last night, as the emergency vet said it would probably be ok since she only had half a pill, but they said I could call poison control to be sure. Well, that was going to be pretty expensive (55) so I wasn't too crazy calling about half of a pill, plus she seemed ok, and the vet seemed pretty confident. Then this morning I was a little worried again because she wouldn't eat more than about half her food, which is extrememly unusual, she usually gobbles it right up! But I had to go to work, and I called our usual vet on the way and they said it shouldn't be a problem. Luckily, now that I am home tonight she seems fine:) Thanks for the suggestions, we just got Tosca in Feb and this is the first time I have ever had a dog ( I was deathly scared of them as a kid) but she really has grown on me, she is so sweet, and not like a normal dog.

    I do now seeing what you say I do agree with a more verbal and/or stand up and as you say "higher dog" split them up. And I have seen this many times, where my boxer would do that at a dog park, he's such a dork lol, some dogs would start arguing and he'd go shoulder his way inbetween them and just stand there. I can also understand your point that there are a high number of boxers that don't get the clue and subtle hints, and part of it JMO is back to training. And the whacking them in the face, yep thats a boxer, lol. And I can understand that Basenjis don't like that. When we frst met our neighbor that had a Basenji, Reggie tried his normal "boxer" techniques (but thankfully he's not a face wacker) to get the B to play, pawing at him, low woofs, etc, since that didn't work he took the B's toy and stood there squeaking it at him and then took off in a game of chase, they were friends until we moved away.
