What Silly Things SCARE Your B??

  • Nothing.

Jazzy is about bomb-proof. If she hears a sudden loud noise, she may startle, but then wants to investigate it. The first time we mowed the lawn after she moved in the only problem we had was that she wanted to "help". LOL When dh does work on the house, she's in the middle of things, which was a real PIA for him during a major remodel last summer. LOL Remote control toys of any kind provide a very momentary glance of interest, then she ignores them.

Keoki is a little more cautious, but not afraid of anything that we've seen yet. He chases and pounces on remote controlled anythings.

We live in military housing so when the mowers come, i thought since Jack is afraid on the sweeper, he would DEFINALTY be afraid of those huge mowers, but not a single response!!!! :p

  • My male b will stalk you when you are vacuuming acting uninterested, and then in a sudden fit of fury, attack the vacuum with every intent to kill.

He's scared to death of the bathtub, and would rather hide under the bed for the rest of his life, than be subjected to water.

My female B is scared of one of my friends for no apparent reason. She would bite him in a heartbeat. He can calm her down, and she'll be fine for that evening, but the next day, it starts all over. She just stands across the room from him with her hackles up, emitting a very very low pitched growl.

Keoki attacks the broom, making sweeping very difficult.

Hmmm, about that friend . . . I always say "Trust the dog's judgment". I'd keep my eye on that one šŸ˜‰

**OMG that is SOOO funny, about the sweeper, hehehehee!! oh, man my side hurts.

Jack TEARS downstairs when my husband or me are in the bathroom and we say, "Jackers, WANNA BATH??!!" lol. oh we do it all the time because its so FUNNY. but when it IS bathtime be take him in there (drag somtimes) and once hes in the bathtub tho, He just STANDS there helpless and lets us wash him. and then ill back away from the tub and make him stand there until I say, "ok come on out" hes a good boy when it comes to bath timeā€¦im impressed by it really...**

  • I don't think Magnum's really afraid of anything, but he's definitely suspicious of a lot of things. Lots of stuff will have him growling and his hackles up. To me, that means he's suspicious, cautious and intent, but not afraid, per se.

I think the only thing that really scares him and has him running to me for comfort is loud arguing among our family members. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, he hightails it to me, wanting to cuddle, trembling a little and looking for some soothing petting. It's almost as if he's asking, "We're not breaking up are we?" LOL!

  • Cairo has been deathly afraid of his reflection at night for about 3 months. He stalks himself every night. When he gets closeā€¦..he runs away!! OVER and OVER and OVER....

  • My dogs don't really seem to mind much. The first time someone set off firecrackers really close to Nicky he did walk around Sam as if to say, "You first". The guys were on a patio about 6 feet from the walkway we were on when it happened and my response wasn't all that different than Nicky's.

My dogs aren't normally bothered by loud noises though and sit and watch the fireworks from the bedroom window on 4th of July.

  • Topaz is afraid of EVERYTHING  strange people, strange noises, strange objects. Everything needs to undergo a thorough investigationā€¦kinda like the secret service šŸ˜ƒ šŸ˜ƒ She's a skittish little girl...on our walks if a loud car zooms by she jumps like someone just pulled on her tail!! LOL

The funniest thing she was scared of was th bbq grill...LOL she growled at it & if the wind would sway the grill cover a little she jump to high heavens LOL!!

  • I think since we live out in Podunkville (the back of the beyond) mine tend to want to know what everything is instead of being afraid of it. Although the boxer is afraid of men, hmmmm!

  • 1. Doors - when I first got Hollie she was afraid of the door to the house - she is still cautious of the door - makes sure you have it held open before she goes through - NOT a DOOR bolter

    2. Plastic Bags - Terribly afraid of them and the noise they make

    3. Baths - Runs when we mention it

    4. Me sticking my tongue out at her - freaks her out - especially if I make noise when doing it

    5. Quick movements - doesn't like to be startled by someone jumping at her (even in play) - although her daddy and I can do this during play and she's okay, but NOONE else can

    6. Wheelchairs/Walkers - My mom just broke her leg and is using a walker - Hollie is a little unsure of this

    7. Don't blow on her - she'll snap - hate this

Oh, that has me laughing so hard!!! I can just imagine it!

  • Squiggy is fine with a lot but he jumps at sudden noises. He also likes everything in the house to be in its normal place. If I hang my purse on the wrong door knob and he doesnt see me doing it, it is just too funny. He has to do the creep up walk and then the long stretch to smell it and that is after atempting the creep/stretch a few times and jumping back and running around.
Our old dog, a Yorkie, would run back and forth and bark when we would open a can of biscuits. It would start with us showing the can to him, then the slow unwrapping of the paper and then the pop. I miss him, and making biscuits is just not as fun or funny.

  • Ours are afraid of the turtles and tortoises my Son's haveā€¦.it's really funny to see the B's back away from those lighting fast creatures.

We have a wall with African Masks on it. There was one in particular that they where deathly affraid of to the point where we took it down. It was really creepy looking so I kind of understood.

That is EXACTLY how Topaz does itā€¦:D šŸ˜ƒ It's so funny!!

She also jumps if one of us abruptly stands up from our seat šŸ™‚ I wonder what it will be like when we have kids & there will be a bunch of strange things!

  • HAHA its so funny when they get scared huh, lol. Jack stalks his reflection as well, lolā€¦He just stares and then when he makes a sudden move at himself, he bolts, lol...

Two of my pups are placed in So Cal with a lady that has a tortoiseā€¦ he (named fluffy) has been there for years and is, as you can image very "large".... when she was talking to me about getting a puppy I happened to be in So. Cal for a dog show so went and spent some time meeting and getting to know her (her last B had passed away at age 15, which she "found" just walking down the street in her neighborhood, never did find the owners and she had not a clue what kind of dog it was... only that she would give her a home... her Vet clued her in).... Anyway.. I had Fatia and Kristii with me... one look at that "creature" sent Kristii flying the other direction... while Fatia stalked it... and hard to stalk a tortoise that never moved!!! The best part was when she ventured to stand on top of the "strange smelling rock" and it MOVED!!!!! I believe her hackles were up for hours.....

  • Bouncing balls of any kind

Ditto! Duke scares the bee-jeeses out of the whole house when he barks at his reflection on the door wall glass at night. All is well when I close the blinds.

  • Oh Jack has scared me before, see my postā€¦"My B Scared me to DEATH!!"
