I think its standard for all vets/shelters to scan most of the dogs "area" when looking for chips.
Basenji-mix Pups for rescue in Ohio
-
At SICSA, Kettering, Ohio. I generally have doubts when anyone says its a Basenji, but the pics are so Basenji-ish, despite the 'mix' with a Sheltie. I thought the pics were very cute and . I've seen claims of Basenji before that are just kinda,"Really, Why?" But these actually look it. Just putting it out there for anyone interested.
(if I had a fenced in yard I would be checking these pups out in a heartbeat)

Is there a link or pics to go along with this?
-
i googled
SICSA, Kettering, Ohiowarning - look at your own peril. they are very cute!!!
-
I Googled, too! Couldn't resist– and, yes, they are adorable. It would be wonderful if someone could take all three together... but I just hope they all get good homes.

They are very cute! http://www.sicsa.org/view-our-dogs
But there are 4 of them, not 3 (only 3 have pictures for some reason).
Bubba Gump, Bridget, Bandana, and Bandit -
I just hate it when I see good dogs looking for homes. I picked up a Basenji mix last Jan to keep my other one that need a home. New one is missing a leg, only 1 1/2 old and a great companion. Long but bad story why no leg.

I was going to try to take a look at these pups but I am recovering from an intestinal virus. Perhaps they will still be available this weekend!

Yeah, sorry for no link. I'm actually not sure how to do one.
I've looked at the site ( as noted by my fellow B friends) and it appears all the pups are gone> Some of my friends said they would get me a couple for my birthday But they know better. I just need a fence, a basenji-proof fence. I could do it if I had the money, I know what it takes to be Basenji- proof, mostly. Is there one that can really be totally B proof?

I just hope those pups got good homes, and they won't be back to SICSA. Forever homes for all, please.

Here is one of them! This is Bandit… I adopted him 2 weeks ago, and just stumbled on this post... Don't worry, he has a great home, and I hope that his brothers and sisters do alike...
Trust me, he is a basenji... Looks and intelligence!

This news just makes my day! I'm happy for both of you– and it looks like he has setted right in.

OMG!!! Do you not know you need to post a warning about THAT much cuteness!!!!
I need a puppy like another hole in my head, but that pup makes my ovaries hurt.
Please stay and post more cuteness. -
Oh my goodness, I'm with agilebasenji, and my ovaries have been in some medical refuse place for about 18 yrs. What an incredible cutie!

My mix is a Sheltie/Basenji - she is very pretty, has the basenji markings but a much different personality from my P/B - although she is 7 months older, and about 13 pounds heavier, she is definitely not the alpha in our house, the P/B is all of that! This mix makes a really nice pet, so I hope they all found good homes.

I rescued a young Sheltie/Basenji mix many years ago from a Columbus OH shelter for BEAR-Basenji Education and Rescue. She was trouble for the shelter and was kept in a separate area. She loved to lure course and she also would go after balls and bring them back to you! Looked just like a Basenji but with longer fur and her tail was not tightly curled. Dr. Tracy used to joke that we could trim her and get an ILP number from AKC! She found an excellent home.
