Advice To Dogs…

1 After your humans give you a bath, don't let them towel dry you!
Instead, run to their bed, jump up and dry yourself on the sheets.
This is especially good if it's right before your humans' bedtime.

2 Act like a convicted criminal. When the humans come home,
put your ears back, tail between your legs, chin down and act
as if you have done something really bad. Then, watch as the
humans frantically search the house for the damage they think
    you have caused.

3 Hide from your humans. When your humans come home,
don't greet them at the door. Instead, hide from them.
and make them think something terrible has happened to you.
(Don't reappear until one of your humans is panic-stricken
    and close to tears).

4 Wake up 20 minutes before the alarm clock is set to go
off and make the humans take you out. As soon as you get
back inside, fall asleep. (Humans can rarely fall back asleep
after going outside; this will drive them nuts!)

I thought Ide share what i found while surfing the net.. thought is was cute and so basenji !!!!

  • I just loved it, made me have a good laugh :D

  • Seems like this is what they actually do. These B's know how to yank our chains. Thanks for sharing your web find. :)

  • This is so true. Especially about the alarm every morning.

  • Here are some tips from Abbey: If you're really not doing anything wrong and you're mom yells from the other room What Are You Doing In There, quickly grab a dirty sock and a bra from the laundry basket and trot into the living room with them. This provides your humans with a little comic relief; it's best to do this when they have visitors. A good baroo always gets a laugh no matter what you've done, and really fast footwork helps too if you've been REALLY BAD. One more thing, if your mom thinks you're asleep and goes to take a shower, never NEVER get up, wander into the bedroom and knock the ironing board over on your head!

  • omg my dog does each and everyone of those lmao

  • Do you know that I was actually told by a trainer to ignore Trixie when she was doing those bad things!! Yeah right! I guess you just let her shred the throw rugs that you just purchased because she shredded the last 4 you bought!! Hehe gotta love her!!!!

  • Too funny :D Basenjis all the way.

  • That was great, thanks for sharing!

  • Thanks for the laugh!!! Mine prefer #3… sadistic little creatures:D

  • There's also this one:
When your humans take you out, poop twice. Rest assured, they only brought one bag.
Also, if your human has an attractive member of the opposite sex over agressively crotch sniff.

An apartment would not be a problem if you give your B plenty of exercise and nose time. Also, the office would be great, but do realise that dogs need a lot of sleep, not only puppies. Our 2 sisters (7 and 6) sleep all night and most of the day. So your B would need a quiet space in the office to retreat and sleep. Agree with eeeefarm: puppy time is extra intensive, but so much fun. Try to be with your B as much as possible. Enjoy!

I have had a couple stained glass made, but there is normally a 3-4 month lead time as the artists are already booked up for Xmas this yr. Most of the artists on etsy will be booked this late in the yr, I had two quilts and a needle felt made a couple yrs ago and I placed my order in June in order to guarantee Xmas delivery. If you have a nice photo, there is a company called treasure knits that does wonderful woven afghans out of a photo with about a one week turn around. I have had both afghans and pillows made from photos as xmas gifts from them and they do great work.

Yes I agree Pat, Fort Funston could get very crowded and dangerous for smaller dogs as packs of bigger dogs playing could cause injury. My 2 Basenjis were very good and stayed pretty close to me and got used to the crowds. The only problem I had there was with this lady who had an older Tri color female Basenji. It would bite my blk/wht, Nika who was 1-1/2 on the butt. A few times of that and I stayed way away from her. The problem is Nika was a very playful girl and never did anything like that. A few times of getting nipped on the butt started her doing it to other dogs and Basenjis. A Basenji would want to play and Nika would chase and give a nip and the the other dog would get mad and a fight would occur. Nobody would ever get hurt thankfully. It was rare that it would happen as I took them there for 9 years, mostly on the weekend without problem. We had a lot of fun and people loved the Basenjis! Ringo, the red/wht was a very entertaining clown when we'd go down to the beach.
