Sharing Websites - How to tell the difference

It still amazes me how many web sites out there make no mention of the dogs real registered names, are they afraid people might actually research the dogs health testing status or other records before commiting to a puppy.
I updated my web site today to reflect the most current health data for my dogs.

Would anyone else care to share with the newbies what their web sites looks like so that prospective owners can learn to tell the difference between a puppy mill website and a breeders site?:

Lots of reputable breeders put the test number beside their dogs or in their dog pages, etc. People who don't test I have seen just use "health guaranteed for X amount of years"

I did a major overhaul of my site and have not gotten all the pages back up completely but people can see how I list health info on my litter page, http://basenjinet.net/litterplans.html
I do have the full registered name of my dogs so anyone can go to OFA and check the health testing I have done.

My site has had links to OFA for almost all the dogs on there (other then deceased) and always have. I also have full registered names on the site along with the sire and dam and breeder(s) if the OFA link is not there. My link to my site is in my signature line.
And one thing that "really" frosts me is the number of breeders (BCOA members) that DO NOT KEEP THEIR SITES CURRECT (and yes, I am yelling it)! Some of them still have information from breeding of 3 to 5+ years ago. So while sharing what a responsible website from a breeder should look like, doesn't do any good if it is many, many years out of date.
Which by the way, I have been harrassing Tad about his for months, he finally started to update, but needs lots of work still!

Tad is not too computer literate:) people who depended on pros to create their web sites are losing out. There is so much easy to use software that enables instant updates vs having to send it off for someone else to upload. I would never tie myself to someone elses schedule for something as simple as a web update.

Agreed Lisa…. maybe we should offer to do it for him...gggg. But it is really playing into the hands of BYB's and Puppy Millers that DO keep theirs up to date.

I agree. It is very common for less-than-reputable breeders to not only keep their dog's registered names a secret but many don't even post call names of the dogs. Many do not post pictures of their dogs. Or they post pictures of some of their dogs but list puppies from dogs that are not found on their website. This makes me wonder just how many dogs they actually have. What else do they have to hide? Responsible breeders are proud of their dogs and are always happy to show them off and share information about them.
