Hello everyone!
My name is Vanessa. I live in in the Bay Area. I am so excited to be on this forum!!! WoW! So many Basenji lovers!!! I only wish this fourm existed when I had my basenji.
I look forward to asking questions that my vet couldn't answer
At this time I do not own a Basenji but by the end of this year I will. I did however at one time have a pup but due to a rare neurological defect I no longer have him. (that is the pic of him that I posted as my avatar) It has been a year now and I can't wait to have another basenji. I hope that I will be able to learn and possibly even meet other basenji owners.
Thank you!!! -
Hi Vanessa! Welcome to Basenji Forums!
We are glad to have you as a part of Basenji Forums community.

Hi Vanessa!
Welcome. My name is Angee and I have a 10 week old Basenji we call Bandit.
Bandit by name and Bandit by nature!!
We also have a 2 year old Lowchen we call Alfie.
As soon as my daughter returns our digital camera, I'll take some photos.
Cheers

Hello Angee!
I love the name Bandit. That name suites a Basenji!
I have never heard of a Lowchen. I had to Google the breed. Very preatty! I look forward to seeing some pictures of your dogs! -
Hi Vanessa! I have a very pretty little black and white named Abbey. She'll be 3 on Christmas Day. Abbey just seemed like a sweet feminine girl name. She turned out to be a holy terror and after a few days I came close to hanging out a Dog for Sale sign. She's settled down finally but she constantly reminds me that she is after all a basenji.

Abbey was born on Christmas Day!! How special! I remember when I had my pup he would screem at the top of his lungs every time we put him in his crate. I couldn't believe the lungs he had on him! They sure can get into trouble
The funny thing is…even though at times I felt the same way as you..I can't wait for another. Hahaha! -

Vanessa - Welcome! I'm so sorry about your Basenji Pup. He looks so adorable!
I'm very thankful for this site. I'd be completely lost if not for the very supportive friends here. I'm glad to know you're getting another Basenji - I can see why. Now that I have Duke, I'm hooked on this mysterious breed. My family is glad Duke isn't theirs, because they've only seen his wild & crazy puppy antics. We're in training - I hope I can change their minds by doing a good job.

Welcome Vanessa! We got Joey from a breeder at 10 months. Joey is really our first dog, had a weimaraner for 3 months, and we think Joey is the coolest!
At first my husband said, that is a cat trapped in a dog's body, but I know differently. I had many cats over the years. My hubby thinks he is a great dog now. So do all the friends we had over for a party a week ago. They can't stop talking about him! We get so much enjoyment being with Joey and I love to hear my kids (5 teens) LOL when Joey is at one of his antics.
